Dark hair spiralled down her back, resting against the darkened navy blue of her attire. The suit she wore was ironed to perfection from the shirt to the trousers she donned. Her shoes polished into a fine shine.

It took only moments but her black tresses were twisted and contained into a harsh bun, pinned and sprayed to stay in place.

Her golden badge visible upon her hip and her holster strapped on tight.

This rookie was ready for her first day as a respectable police officer on the streets of New York.

She looked at her appearance in the mirror with a curt smile. Her youthful looks and beauty gave many cause for concern but her strong will and grit proved she was no princess.

But look closely, what do you see? Her eyes. The cerulean blue embers that shine bright and reflect youth, they tell a story, one that goes back over a Millenia; one she has long since forgotten.

Asgard. The realm eternal. A beacon of hope for all those whom reside within the Nine Realms.

Alas there is one whose hope has begun to fade.

"Tis the law Thor....ye knows more than any of us that we can not disobey it..." Balder the brave, children friend and unknown to him, brother of The Lord Thor.

"I am well aware of the law Balder! Alas tis unjust!" The almighty thunder God, angered by the recent events, stormed through the palace walls.

"Then thou must accept Lady Sif's fate...Thor...stop...." Balder took hold of Thor's arm and forced him into a begrudging stop. Thor did not meet his eye, rather he looked to the floor in agony.

"I can not....twas not her doing! She was framed!"

"Aye, that I agree upon, alas we have nay prove. All evidence points unto Sif and thou knows what the penalty for treason is..."

"Death.."

"Aye. What we did saved her life Thor. She is well and she is living."

"Alas she knows not who she is..." Thor finally looked back up, anguish and hurt in his eyes.

"Nay, alas tis better this way. Once we prove Loki is behind this, once we prove thy brother is indeed still alive and did not perish within that wormhole...then she can come home." Balder placed a supporting arm upon Thor's shoulder and tried to smile but his own hurt at the loss of Sif was apparent.

"Aye, alas Loki is a trickster if he wishes unto remain 'dead', he shalt doth so. It shalt be difficult...."

"Aye." Balder sighed. "Alas I believe we can do it. Heimdall is watching over our fair Sif and keeping watch for signs of Loki also. We shalt get her home Thor. This is my promise to thee..."

The newly qualified rookie entered the quint little station in the centre of New York's busiest block. The doors opened automatically to allow her passage.

"Morning Johnson.." She smiled as she passed the security guard. He grunted in response.

"Officer Sylvan. Office." Her commanding officer called from up ahead upon seeing her arrival.

She followed him into a small room, equipped with one desk, one window, a fan and a multitude of paperwork and picture frames.

"Sir." She stood before him, bolt upright and professional.
