"Pain is a part of life, it is what makes us human; It shapes us the same as love."

Few months ago my eldest son was diagnosed with autism level 1, while the doctor was talking to me I was staring at her but I was not completely listening. I got a lot of questions in my mind. I asked myself what did I do wrong? My son doesn't deserve his condition, he doesn't deserve to be misunderstood and judge by the people around him.

I was scared because I felt like I was not enough as a mother but reading Von Liam's story gave me different perspective. I realized that it's not only me struggling in life there are a lot of "Von Liam" in this world, he is a representation of a strong man who has been broken because of a playful fate.

Von Liam's convesation with his mother gave me the greatest impact. "Iniisip ko kung may nagawa ba akong malaking kasalanan kaya ako pinahihirapan ng ganito?" This question he asked to his mother was the question I asked when I learned about my son's condition. But reading Lianna's response to his son, "Remember this, God gives the hardest battle to His best warriors." I was on the verge of giving up but when I read that line from Lianna, that's the time I realized that I should not give up just yet, the battle has just begun and God is my shield in this battle.

We are the superheroes of our own story, but it does not mean we won't get hurt fighting. As the line of a song goes "Even heroes have the right to bleed." When we fall,we should learn to pick ourselves up. Give a good fight, endure the pain, have faith and something great will happen.
