|Sabrina's POV|
Heath
H: Heard you're back in town.
H: Maybe we'll run into each other.S: Absolutely. Let's get together soon
Four years later and Sabrina had finally heard back from Heath. It was an unsettling feeling at first seeing his name appear on the screen again. She hadn't ever deleted his number but she wasn't sure when or if she would use it again. She wondered if Zane going to dinner with her and Ken could have made him text her. Either way it was strangely nice. They were best friends after all. All resentment and feelings had been stored away in the past where Sabrina intended to leave them. She has Ken now and that's all she needs.
The rest of the week Sabrina spent with Ken showing him all around her favorite places in Fort Lauderdale. The dingy ice cream shop by her old high school with the rusty looking chairs and matching tables she would come to all the time with Zane and Heath. The movie theatre downtown that only played black and white classics that Heath, Zane and her would catch almost every month. The oldest diner in the city with antique furniture she would come to with a hangover with Heath and Zane. And lastly she took him to her favorite spot. The cliff overlooking the ocean, where Sabrina, Heath and Zane would escape to every chance they got.
There was a pattern here she was aware of. But there wasn't one place in this city that wasn't tainted by the memories she made with her two best friends. She knew Ken noticed the trend as well but she was grateful to him for not mentioning it.
Except when he did.
"So, when do I get to meet the third musketeer?" Ken asked taking a lick of his liquorice flavored ice cream.
Sabrina didn't even know the flavor existed or understood how he even enjoyed it. "It's good for your taste palette" he had said when she questioned his decision on the flavor.
"Who? Heath?" She knew exactly who he meant. "Oh, soon I guess. Maybe we can catch brunch with him someday." She licked her favorite cookies and cream flavor. But she was missing having a taste of Zane's mint chocolate and Heath's vanilla, strawberry mix.
"Why not tonight? Couple of my frat brothers are hosting an event at a bar down in Miami. We can drive down there and you can tell your buddies to come too," Ken suggested.
It took Sabrina by surprise but at the same time made her happy that Ken was putting forth the effort to hang out with her friends.
Heath & Zane
S: Miami tonight?
H: Bitch u read my mind, les do it
Z: YAS BABY
Z: the three blind mice are back in action!S: really Zane? lol
"Should I tell the boys we'll pick them up?" Sabrina asked Ken as she finished doing her make up at her vanity.
"No driving tonight babe. I'll send them a cab, just tell them to be ready by 9." Ken told her. He was a bit frustrated with his tie like always.
"Here, let me," She got up and fixing it for him and tying the perfect knot the way her father had taught her.
She smoothed his shoulders and wrapped her arms around his neck. How had she gotten so lucky?
"Thanks, babe. What would I do without you?" He held her by the waist slightly bending his head down to kiss her.
