|Heath's POV|

God, if I could have just pushed myself forward I would have tasted the sweetness of her lips. I could have felt like I had the entire world in one moment. But she backed away, she wouldn't do that to her precious barbie. Yet he had no remorse, he doesn't deserve her. And maybe I don't either but what if I could be a better man for her. I couldn't give her everything barbie doll Ken has given her materialistically but I could love her better.

Heath's thoughts were eating him up. He's had so many chances, to tell Sab the truth about Ken, even to kiss her. He could easily resume to the heavy drinking but he promised his mom he wouldn't do it for the wrong reasons anymore. A cigarette or a couple would do for now.

But what he truly didn't understand was how Sab could still be with a guy like Ken. It's true, she didn't even know that he cheated on her but Ken was the complete opposite of who Sab was as a person. She was radiant, intelligent, humble, kind, honest; all these adjective that no where near defined Ken's malicious, arrogant lifestyle.

One thing Heath was now absolutely sure about was that Sab was not ready to marry Ken. She'd made it clear in the conversation they had. He could see it in her eyes and the way she fidgeted her hands. He knew that meant she was anxious and unsure of her current decision. Somehow Heath saw it as a cry for help. Maybe it wasn't his right but he felt it was his duty to save Sab from making a mistake like marrying Ken.

Ken - Barbie Doll

H: Yo, I was wondering if we could meet up
H: coffee, downtown?

KBD: sure

Deep down Heath knew this wasn't a great idea. The fact that he couldn't bring himself to tell Zane about it was the main reason he knew it would be bad. He knew Zane would try to convince him otherwise. Not only that, he was already accepting the fact that he could lose Sab forever. But if defending her pride meant losing her, it would be worth it. As long as she didn't end up with this piece of scum.

Heath arrived a few minutes before Ken. He already knew they wouldn't get to the coffee part of this conversation so he waited outside. Not long after, the silver two door Audi pulled up and parked in a no parking zone. Ken, with his ray bans, blue sacks and off white striped button up, hopped out greeting Heath a head nod. Heath was already sick of his shit.

"I just want to ask you something," Heath announced. "Did you cheat on Sab that night we went out with your frat brothers?"

Ken slowly took off his glasses closing them and putting them in his shirt pocket. Heath could see the smug look on his face and he wanted nothing more than to punch it right off.

"Honestly, Heath, that's none of your business," he replied nonchalantly.

"That's where you're mistaken buddy, Sab is my business. That's my best friend and I'll do anything to protect her. I know you slept wit that girl," Heath spoke louder.

"You don't know anything pal," Ken grimaced.

"I know you're a piece of shit," Heath blurted.

"Look at you, Heath. You're pathetic. Defending the honor of a woman who is worth more than you'll ever be. You're worthless, that's why Sabrina could never love you," Ken chuckled, slightly pushing Heath's shoulder.

Heath looked down to where Ken touched him and that was all he needed to swing his arm and clock Ken right in the jaw.

Ken grabbed his jaw spitting out what seemed to be blood and launched himself at Heath throwing them back on the ground. Ken grabbed Heath by the collar of his shirt giving Heath the advantage of turning them over. Heath was now over Ken throwing punches at his feeling his knuckles going numb as blood splattered from Ken's nose and mouth.

He didn't even notice when two bigger men started pulling him off.

"Get out of here before someone calls the cops," one of the men said.

Heath looked down at a bruised Ken holding his face, spitting on the floor next to him then ran home as fast he could. The adrenaline running through his body had him feeling like he could run a marathon two times over. By the time he got to Zane's house he hadn't realized how out of breath he was and how bloody his knuckles were.

He made his way into Zane's house and down to his basement. Zane sat in front of his computer not paying any mind to Heath, as usual. Unitl he saw how sweaty he was.

"Where'd you just come from?" Zane asked then looked down at hands. "What the fuck happened?"

Heath walked away from Zane into the bathroom to rinse them.

"Heath, whose ass did you kick?" Zane asked again, more worried this time.

Heath just smiled, "Ken's."

Zane's face turned red and Heath knew it was from anger. "Why?" he interrogated.

"I confronted him about cheating on Sab," Heath just shrugged his shoulders.

"Heath, what the fuck is wrong with you?" Zane was getting angrier.

"Don't you see how fucked up this is, Zane? I'm not going to let some asshole ruin Sab's life!" Heath shouted back.

"And what are you going to do huh? Be her knight in shining armor? You can barely get your own life together sometimes, Heath! This was none of your business," Zane scolded him.

Heath knew Zane was right, but his pride wouldn't let him accept it. Ken deserved the ass whooping he got and Sabrina deserved to know the truth.

Sab

H: I have to tell you something

H: Ken isn't who you think he is

H: That night we went out without you he asked me to tell Donna to bring some girls around

H: He told me not tell you. I ended leaving early but someone saw him leaving with one of the girls

H: I'm sorry you have to find out through me but I couldn't go on knowing you're going to marry a lying, cheating scumbag like Ken

| Sabrina's POV |

Sabrina had received a call to head to the hospital immediately. Ken had had an accident. She rushed in her car, leaving it with valet at the entrance of the hospital as she ran inside giving the nurses at the front desk his full name. He was still in one of the rooms in the ER. She entered his room and couldn't recognize his face. His eyebrow popped up bruised and bloody, his nose covered in red and his lip slightly ripped. He was sitting holding an ice pack to his face as he waited to get stitches.

"What happened?" She asked almost in tears.

"Your stupid fucking friend, that's what happened," Ken replied wanting to scowl but the pain wouldn't let him.

"Heath did this?" Sabrina was surprised.

She had read the messages before the call came through but she never expected Heath had confronted Ken first.

Sabrina decided she wouldn't mention anything to Ken while they were still in the hospotal. They waited a little longer for the doctor to stitch Ken up and soon was discharged. Ken was asked if he would like to speak to the police about the incident but he decided against it, instilling some fear in Sabrina that he would take it into his own matters.

Finally they were on their way home when Sabrina asked the question.

"Is it true?" she muttered, loud enough to be heard.

"Is what true?" Ken asked back.

"Did you cheat on me?" she responded.

"You can not be serious right now, Sabrina. Of course, I didn't cheat on you. Why would I have asked you to marry me if that was the case?" Ken groaned from the pain speaking caused him but he continued. "Babe, I promise I didn't cheat on you. That low life just doesn't want to see us together."

He reached over to grab her and she accepted it. She faced him trying to find the sincerity in his face. But the blood clot in his eyes was all she could see. All she could think was how upset she was at Heath for causing this.
