| Sabrina's POV |

"Sabrina." He spoke again, saying her full name this time. He hadn't said it since the first time they were introduced and he was the first to call her 'Sab.' After a while it just stuck and everyone called her Sab but the way he said her full name sent chills up her spine.

"What are you doing here?" He asked with the complete opposite reaction Sabrina expected him to have. He wasn't happy, neither sad not even concerned.

Before she could answer though Zane came running out of nowhere. "Baby!" he yelled pushing past Heath. He pulled her into a hug and out of the intense stare down she was having with Heath.

Her thoughts unfroze and began racing with a thousands questions. The main one being how the hell she ended up at a party with Heath and Zane.

In no time Zane had her by the hand pulling her along introducing her to all these viners and youtubers or "influencers" as they called themselves. To be honest, it was intimidating but she went along with it. They were all really nice and amicable and there was no room to feel left out amongst them. But her eyes kept daring toward the house to the one person she lost sight of. It wasn't until Zane took Sabrina inside to offer her food that she found Kristen.

"Kristen," she called loud enough over the noise.

"Are you having fun?" Kristen asked, jumping around to some Beyonce being played from the living room. "I see I'm not the only you know in LA. Liar!" Kristen teased.

"I didn't think I'd run into them. They're old friends" The words left a bitter taste in her mouth after half lying. She knew it would happen eventually, but never at a party she was invited to by her coworker.

Sabrina enjoyed the rest of the night as best she could while another part of her wondered where Heath had run off to. She hadn't seen him since their run in and she wasn't sure she wanted to.

The best part of the night was being able to see and talk to Zane again. She'd missed their long chats and his jokes that made her problems less stressful. Around midnight, Kristen begged her not to leave and even offered her to spend the night but Sabrina knew she'd overstayed her welcome especially because her presence had made Heath leave the party. Or so she thought.

She walked out into the brisk night after saying goodbye. She hadn't even called her uber yet but announcing it's arrival was her excuse to leave. She'd had enough for one night and couldn't wait to be in her own space to recollect her thoughts.

But then Sabrina saw Heath walking around a red truck, cigarette in hand. He looked different than before. His face was fuller, hair shaggier but he was still the same Heath she remembered.

"Hey," he spoke to her after taking a drag.

"Hi," she said back.

"So, what are you doing in LA?" He asked casually.

"I live here now," she replied.

Heath's eyebrows went up in surprise. "You live here?" he questioned. "Since when?" He took another drag looking up at the dark sky.

"About three months." She fidgeted with her phone, thinking it was about time she order that uber now.

He stayed quiet for a while and then offered her a ride.

"It's okay, my uber will be here soon." She lied.

"Come on, Sabrina. Cancel it. I'll take you." He took one last drag of his cigarette before flicking it toward the street. He opened the door to the red truck and hopped in waiting for Sabrina to follow.

She did so even though a part of her questioned her actions. She was nervous though she knew she shouldn't be. This was Heath, her best friend. But this was also Heath, the guy she ignored after he confessed his love for her.

| Heath's POV |

The ride was quiet but Heath's thoughts were as loud as thunder. There were a thousand questions he wanted to ask Sabrina. Starting with why she decided to come live in LA of all places, or how she did she really feel after everything that happened and most importantly, did she receive his messages. But he settled on, "How are you liking LA?"

"It's nice. Prettier than Plantation," she chuckled "And definitely not as dry." He knew she was blushing as she spoke by the way she played with her hands on her legs. She always did that when she got shy.

He chuckled along, agreeing with her. Hearing her voice again was soothing after so long but still something in him lingered. It almost felt like anger. She hadn't done anything and if anyone should be mad it should be her. But he was hurt because he'd declared his love to her and yet it was sitting there in the back seat like an elephant; unmentioned.

"Turn here," she said after a few minutes of silence. It wasn't awkward but it wasn't like before either. She seemed different yet the same.

He parked the car and sat there for a few seconds looking for something to say. "Sabrina?" He started.

"What?" She asked looking form the window to him. He could see her chest rise in anticipation of what he could say and her eyes looking into his for answers or something of the like.

He couldn't gather himself to spill every word he was thinking but all he could say was , "goodnight, Sabrina." And turned away.

After their exchange, she got out of the truck and walked into her building. Heath was disappointed with himself for not saying more. But what could he say to her? He'd spilled his whole heart to her and she didn't even acknowledge any of it. She wasn't obligated to but Heath expected something, instead of nothing.
