Sabrina tried on her third outfit in the past half hour. She began contemplating not going out altogether, already thinking of an excuse to send to Kristen. Maybe that she was sick and stuck in the bathroom with food poisoning. But then she remembered her and Kristen had the same lobster rolls and Kristen would mostly likely freak out thinking she'll get sick too.
This sudden anxiousness confused Sabrina as she'd already gotten through the toughest part of seeing Zane and Heath. She'd even been in the car alone with Heath and though nothing came of it it had happened.
She pushed her thoughts aside, settling on the second outfit she had tried on and called her uber. Soon she was being driven to that familiar house on Denny street. The house was emptier than last time with a few familiar faces she'd met at the thanksgiving party. Kristen was there being her perky self and reintroduced her boyfriend Scott, his roommate Todd and their friend Carly.
Zane and Heath were there as well. Zane excited as ever that Sabrina decided to come out with them. Heath on the other hand gave a silent hand wave as he tipped back his beer. Sabrina tried not to think too much into it. The thought of the messages lingered in her mind and she wondered what he would say now if it were brought up. But Heath had changed, she'd seen it in him since he gave her the ride home. It was expected though.
They arrived at a country styled bar that reminded her of so many restaurants from back home. Full bar, and with an electric bull smack in the middle. The ambience and the music were great and Sabrina was feeling herself loosen up as the night went on. She danced with Carly and Kristen as they drank round after round. She also noticed Heath smile at her a few times from across the bar.
Maybe it was the alcohol flowing through her that made her walk toward him, pushing through the crowd that was standing near the bar.
"Hey," she spoke loud enough for him to hear over the music.
"Hey," he leaned down closer to her. "Having fun?"
Sabrina nodded with her eyes closed like a child.
"I'm glad you are. I'm also glad you're in LA now," He said close to her ear. She looked up at his smiling face and felt a warm feeling take over her. She knew it was the alcohol talking but she also knew it was the alcohol's influence believing him. And maybe it was because she had missed him so much that she was okay with it.
"Me too," she smiled back at him.
After many more drinks and being silly at the bar with everyone they were on their way back home. Sabrina sat between Heath and Zane finding herself leaning a little closer to Heath than she should have. It was almost embarrassing how low her alcohol tolerance was but it was the same reason that made her not care.
They get out of the uber like a stampede and Sabrina found herself racing to the bathroom but was beat by Toddy who was practically crapping his pants after Scott dared him to do a shot of hot sauce.
"Come on," Sabrina yelled holding her bladder and knocking harshly on the bathroom door.
"There's another bathroom out in the pool house," Kristen laughed drunkenly.
"Unless, you want to pee in the pool. That's cool too," Scott said sarcastically.
Sabrina walked through the lawn and into the house that she was surprised to see was well furnished. She opened random doors until she found the bathroom and rushed to use it feeling immediate relief. As she was going to wash her hands the door opened abruptly.
"Sorry, I didn't realize there was anyone here." It was Heath.
"It's okay," she said looking straight into his eyes.
Within seconds he closed the space between them and kissed her. Their first kiss. It was messy and rushed, everything Sabrina never imagined. She felt Heath grab her butt lifting her up to sit on the sink. She wrapped her legs around his waist on instinct pulling him closer to her. He bit down on her lip causing a sigh to escape her mouth. They were a panting mess holding each others faces when they finally parted.
They were both silent when he pecked her lips once more before leaving her alone in the bathroom confused after what just happened.
Next thing Sabrina remembers is waking up on the black leather couch of Scott's house with a blanket wrapped around her. Memories from the night before flood her thoughts. The kiss. She can't believe it happened, after so many years of having feelings for Heath. But what now? So she kissed him but that doesn't erase everything that has happened. She's not even sure she knows what it means to her.
| Heath's POV |
Heath felt drunk up until the point his lips met Sab's. After their intense first kiss it was like he was on a natural high that didn't let him sleep for the rest of the night.
He had to leave immediately after kissing her because he couldn't believe it had finally happened. To be honest, he would have kissed her to the point where their clothes were thrown on the floor and he would have taken her there on the bathroom sink. But it wasn't just any girl. It was Sab. The only girl that's ever made him question his sanity.
He pushed his boner down as he walked back toward the house. Feeling awful leaving her behind like that. But it had been more than he expected and she was drunk. The last thing he ever wanted was to take advantage of her intoxicated state. So he went into the house sitting on the wooden chairs along the kitchen bar.
Not long after, Sab stumbled into the house. Heath could tell she was still buzzing as he watched her sit on the black leather couch. She was still the lightweight drinker he remembers. He watched as his friends danced and pretend wrestled while glancing at Sab every so often. Eventually he noticed she had fallen asleep on her hand resting on the arm couch.
"Should we wake her?" Zane whispered to him as they watched over her.
"No, you idiot. Help me get her comfortable," he asked Zane as they positioned her comfortably on the couch.
Heath threw a blanket over her taking one last look at her and smiling to himself at how adorable she looked.
Back in his room, the thought of the kiss wouldn't let him sleep. He'd give anything to kiss her again. But what did it mean? The messages were still undiscussed and he wasn't sure what would happen next. Sure he still had feelings for her but so what? Do they kiss, make up and live happily ever after?
