Nico's P.O.V

I was stuck with Percy in a cage. Annabeth, Jason and Piper had been killed and Leo was the only one who could save us, Frazel had gone with Reyna to try and stop the war. I had gone with Percy to try and find and stop Gaia, but we got caught and was becoming a sacrifice. Percy had been crying over everything and I had to hold up that shield that keeps everyone away. I could shadow travel and leave Percy, but I can't and I won't do that. Percy could escape too, but he isn't...but why? "Nico...I want to..." Percy says. "What do you want Jackson?" I ask.
"To talk" Percy says. Talk? To me?! "I want to know why you are mad at me?" Percy says. Oh no..."I was never mad at you, even if you are stupid" I say. Percy looks confused.
"Then why did you leave?" He asks. "Are you gonna keep bothering me with questions or get a plan to help us escape?" I ask. He can never know. "Nico..." Percy says.
"I don't have enough shadows and power to shadow travel both of us, but maybe if we could find more shadows...or Leo could" I get cut of by Percy looking annoyed.
"Leo can help us escape, we'll be fine for a while...so can you please talk to me" Percy says. I sigh and nod. "Why did you leave?" He asks.
"Reasons, I don't fit in...I never did" I say. Percy nods. "Annabeth would be able to help us out of here" Percy says. I feel my fists clench and anger rise. I never hated Annabeth, I hated that he was so obsessed over her. All he talks about is her. "Why her?" I ask. "What?" He asks. I sigh.
"Why Annabeth, out of everyone" I ask. "I...she is perfect Nico...when you find someone you love, you're heart stops and you can't live without them, and when they are gone you wouldn't image anyone else...and she made me feel this way...like butterflies but like you're flying...you know?" Percy says and I nod. "I know all about it..." I mutter. "How? Who's the lucky girl?" Percy asks. I see monsters below us, waiting for Gaia. We only have a short amount of time before we die. Where are you Leo? Where the hades are you? "Nico, go!" Percy says. "Shadowtravel far away from here and get Leo" Percy says. "I'm not leaving you here" I say. He looks confused.
"Why? I broke my promise to you, I hurt you" Percy says.  "It was Bianca that sacrificed herself, she left me...not your fault, it was never your fault" I say. "Why won't you leave and save yourself?" Percy asks. "Because I can't leave you behind...I deserve to die unlike you...I'm not worth anything to Gaia, but you are" I say. "Nico...you are worth..." he gets cut off with the cheering of monsters. "Leo better be here soon, or else I will kill him!" I say.
"Nico...leave" Percy says. "You mean to much to let you die...I won't let you be killed!" I say.
"Why? I hurt you... it's my punishment" Percy says. "Shut up about your punishments, no one ever wished you dead but they all did to me...I'm not one of the seven, I'm not important!" I say.
Percy looks shocked. "Nico...I..." Percy says and I sigh.
"We either die together or not at all...you are living, that's the end of that!" I say. "Why do you insist I stay alive?" Percy says. I growl and grab the collar of his shirt. "I already lost everyone I ever cared and loved, I'm not loosing the last person I love to a god damn dirt woman" I say. Wait...I TOLD HIM I LOVE HIM! Oh no no no no! I let go of him and look away from him.
"I left because I...I liked you and I thought...I thought it wasn't normal...not acceptable, but it is" I say. "You're gay?" Percy asks and I nod.
Percy shrugs. "Cool I guess, and I'm honoured I was your first crush" Percy says. Leo burst through the roof whooping and cheering while being attacked left, right and centre.
"OH HOLY SHIST, GO BACK TO YOUR MOTHERS AND LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE!" Leo yells.
A monster opens our cage and grabs Percy. I pull out my sword and attack, but it's no use. Leo grabs me and pulls me onto the boat. "Leo, get Percy!" I yell as the monster carries Percy away. I watch as Leo tries to attack monsters to get to Percy...as he gets stabbed and his blood splatters the ground. He is smiling...he's with Annabeth. Leo gets out of there and sets co-ordinates to camp. I sit on the deck. Why wasn't it me? Why! "Nico...I wanted to say" he says but I can't comprehend what I saw. "Just go away" I say, tears flowing from my eyes. I feel a packet of something land in front of me. "I'm glad you're alive, and I'm sorry...this is my fault and I'll try to fix it, I promise" he says and walks off. I look up to see a packet of fonzies at my feet. I can't push Leo away like I did with everyone else...he is the only person who understands and is like a friend to me...I can't push him away like Percy before he dies too.
