Chapter 18 : Waiting in Vain

There's nothing alarming than waking up with two crying kids on your sides.

"Dadaaaa..."

"Daddy..."

"What's wrong, babies?" Did something bad happened?",

Both boys just cried and hugged me.

"Boys, what happened?" I ask again,

"I thought you're not going to wake up," Tony replied

"Me too. We wake you up but you still sleep. Just like Papa. Uncle Robin let us stay here but he said we should be good boys," Jimmy replied

"Oh," I look around to see who my kids are with, then I saw Xander sleeping soundly on the sofa.

"Babies, could you wake up Uncle Xander?" I ask them which they hurriedly do. Poor Xander, waking up with the two boys shaking his body.

"Hey, Tim, you're awake. You feeling anything? I'll call Robin," he said in a panic tone.

"Just text him, I'm fine but I can feel slight pain in my lower abdomen. How is Johnny? Is he safe?" I asks,

"I haven't been in Johnny's room since yesterday, bro. I already told Robin you're awake, so he will be here soon. Anyway, your mom is here earlier. She'll be back tomorrow," he replied

"Is the operation a success?" I asks where he replied with a sigh, "Where's Den?"

"Den is in your office as of now..." he replied nervously

Just the mention of my office makes me want to stand up, but then again, I am stung by that pain.

"Hey calm down. Thank your secretary later for she discovered something fishy going on. Relax, okay? You're stitches were not totally healed. Did you know that you undergo a 6 hour operation last 3 days. I don't want to clean up an organ falling off your stitches, okay?" He said which makes my kids hold my arm.

"I've been passed out for 3 days?" I asks, which he replied with a nod

"Yes, but don't move too much. I'm scared of blood remember?" He said,

Robin came in the middle of our conversation.

"Well, sleeping beauty is finally awake!" Robin said in a teasing tone.

"How is Johnny?" I asks,

"He's still unconscious. Rest for now, I'll tell you something once you're well rested,"

"I've been asleep for 3 days, isn't that enough for a rest?" I asked

"Funny, Genius! I'm talking about your stitches," he said smiling then checks my vitals.

"Kids, have you been good?" He asks,

"Yes, doctor!" The twins replied

"Well, let your daddy rest for a bit longer then you can all visit your papa, okay?"

"Thanks, Rob," I replied

"I'm only doing this for you to stop asking me anything. Go rest. Den will be here later. He is in an important case right now," he said

"Xander told me something about my office earlier. Is that what it's all about?"

"Yeah, and your uncle is somehow connected to it. Ease your mind for now. You won't help Den by worrying,"

I nod. I told the kids to come beside me and told them to be good to their uncle Xander.

"I'll rest for now, kids. Always listen to your uncles, okay? We will visit your papa later," I told them and they smiled.
