As I continue writing my style changes and grows with me. This chapter is in third person limited meaning that that the narrator, in this case me, knows the thought and feelings of only one character, in this case Zayn.

*******

When Zayn woke up that morning he had planned his entire day out.

First, he'd go to GiGi's house and go out to eat breakfast with her. Then, work on his music and maybe paint, if he felt inspired. Last, he'd go to Harry's apartment to talk to his best friend just as he's been doing since Perrie left. Harry had proven to be the best friend Zayn had ever had and he cursed himself for ruining that with stupid jealousy. With Harry Zayn could talk about how he still loved Perrie and wished they were together. Harry would remind him that he was in a relationship and Perrie was in Italy trying to forget him. He needed that reminder.

Italy. She had left the country because she couldn't be near him anymore. Zayn knew that when Perrie had told him that she would move on she meant it, but a small part of him knew that what they had was too special to just let it go. Yet, that was exactly what he had done months ago.

When Zayn arrived to Harry's apartment he knew that Harry would grow tired of Zayn talking about Perrie. What he didn't expect was to come face-to-face with the girl who haunted his dreams.

"Perrie." It seemed like a dream.

"Zayn." Perrie said is shock, her eyes wide.

Zayn could feel everything inside of him come together just at the sight of the women he loved. Everything was a blur to him in that moment and the next thing he knew was that he was holding her in his arms again. He felt like himself again as if nothing had changed, but something had changed. By the way Perrie didn't return the hug, by the way her eyes had a light that he hadn't seen in a while. But he knew that he wasn't the cause of that light not when he was the one that destroyed it almost a year ago.

"I missed you so much, my Perrie." He whispered into her hair and hugged her tighter, never wanting to let her go again.

After so long she finally hugged him back. God, how he missed her. When Perrie finally pulled away Zayn looked at her.

Her hair. That was the first thing he noticed. Her once beautiful long blonde hair was now short and brown. His heart tightened at the sight of her new hair because in a way it seemed like she was a new person and not the Perrie he knew. Her now brown hair brought more attention to her beautiful sapphire eyes and all that they held. Yes, they still held some pain, but mostly they held happiness and love. He wasn't sure, though, it the love was for him.

Her face now seemed fuller and color now returned to her cheeks along with a warm tan to her pale skin.

"You know, they say it's not polite to stare." Perrie joked. A smile appeared on her lips as she caught Zayn stating at her.

He shook his head and looked down. "I'm sorry. You just look.."

"Different." Perrie finished for him. "I know. That's kind of what I was going for."

"You still look beautiful." He said, but meant to say to himself not realizing he had said it out loud.

The smile never left her lips. "Thank you."

"Who's at the door?" Zayn could hear Harry ask from within his apartment and soon he emerged next to Perrie, without a shirt.

Zayn could feel that jealousy return, but he kept reminding himself that even thought Harry loved Perrie she only saw him as a friend.

"Oh hey, Zayn."

"Hey, Harry."

Before Zayn could say anything else Perrie's phone rang. As she reached for her phone Zayn caught sighted of the caller ID photo. He could make out Perrie but wasn't sure who the girl and the other guy were in the photo. The three stood on a boat, smiling at the camera.

"Hello?.. Abri?" Perrie's eyes lit up as she answered her call. "Can you hear me?"

"Um, do you want to come inside, Zayn?" Harry asked when he noticed how awkward Zayn felt standing in the hall.

"Yeah, sure."

When Zayn walked in Perrie reached for Harry's hand and grabbed it tight. "I have to go home, Harry. I'll come back tomorrow."

"Okay."

Her eyes turned to Zayn's, her phone still near her ear.

Please stay.

Please stay.  He prayed in his mind.

"I have to leave, but it was so good to see you Zayn." She reached for his hand and squeezed it gently. He wondered if she felt the spark on energy between them the second their hand touched. If she did her face showed nothing.

With that Perrie left. Something inside of Zayn snapped the second he saw the door close. She was different, he felt it. He just didn't know if he liked it.
