I Was Foolish to Love You.

Warning in advance, this chapter has a lot of mistakes and I will most likely go back and edit it later. I wrote it in a rush.

The drive back to the apartment was filled with laughter and stories from both Perrie and Harry as they enjoyed the place they were both in at that moment. Nothing made Perrie happier than being with her best friend who had been her rock so many times in the past and knowing that they would never lose each other.

They sang the songs that played on the radio and rolled down their windows so that those around them could hear them too. It was a time of peace and laughter that was so rare for Perrie and in that moment she was genuinely happy with life. The simple things were what made her the happiest and made for the best memories.  Everything was fine, but as always there was always something that would ruin the moment of happiness she felt. That moment came when the host of the radio made an announcement that made Perrie's world stop.

"We just received word that Zayn Malik has secretly been dating someone!"  The male host said. "Apparently they have been dating for three months now. As you all remembered Zayn and Gigi Hadid broke up five months ago, though neither camp revealed any details as to why. It seems though, that Zayn didn't waste too much time thinking about the past as he is now dating actress Marie Claude!"

Perrie couldn't process the words that came after the announcement as she felt her head was going to explode along with her heart in that moment. Everything was quiet for a moment as Perrie stared ahead to the city before her. The light from it seemed to be fighting the darkness around it and winning.

She could feel the car stop along with her heart in that very moment. A heavy pain settled on her heart as tears formed in her eyes, but she refused to cry. It took all of her will power to control her feelings as she felt the familiar sense of heartbreak again.

Harry took her hand in his and brought her attention to him, his green eyes filled with concern.

Perrie took a deep breath and shut her eyes from the images that were playing in her head. The time passed with silence being the only thing heard in the car and Perrie knew Harry was waiting for her reaction to the news, but she knew, this time she knew that she was going to be okay even if it felt like her heart was just ripped out of her chest.

"He moved on." She said without realizing it and hugged herself as a sudden cold spread through her body, but she kept her head held high even if everything inside of her hurt. "I'm glad."

"Perrie," Harry's soft voice broke the silence," You don't have to pretend with me. I know you still love him and this must hurt you."

Without noticing tear began falling and it took all her strength to keep more from following in their path. At first Harry said nothing and Perrie thought it was because he didn't know what to say, but she realized he was waiting for Perrie to let him in to her heart. He was waiting for her to open up to him.

"I told him to let me go and this is him letting me go. I'm happy for him."

Perrie believed that if she repeated those words to herself she would eventually believe them because the pain that she felt was unbearable. What bewildered her the most was that after all this time, she still loved him more than she dared to admit.

Perrie sat on her bed in the dark, the moonlight was her only source of light in that moment. A thousand moments from her past played in her mind and she remembered each with different emotions. She embraced her memories with Zayn, yet this time something felt different. She knew something was different in that moment.
