"Perrie, I though I lost you." Abriella said laughing as she watched Perrie walk down the stair, but the laughter left her as she saw Zayn. "Where were you?" Abriella asked Perrie.
Abriella's eyes moved to Zayn and her eyes widen, "Oh." Was all she said.
In that moment,Perrie could feel the tension begin to grow in the atmosphere, but there was nothing she could do to make it disappear. She began to rub her finger against each other as her anxiety grew.
Perrie and Zayn reached the end of the staircase and met the eyes of Abriella, who held a sense of fear in them. Perrie could feel her cheeks burning as she turned to Zayn and found him smiling. "Oh no, it's not what y-you think." She found herself saying. "We were just talking."
Zayn came up behind Perrie and placed his hand gently on her hip, and placed a kiss on her cheek. "I'll see you later, beautiful." He whispered in her ear, sending a thousand lightening bolts down her spine.
"What's going on, Abri?" Ciro asked as he walked over to where Abriella stood at the bottom of the stairs, "You left Harry and I talking to these ladies we don't know." Ciro joked. His eyes soon followed Abriella's and all the laughter left his body.
Perrie felt like a deer in headlights and grew uncomfortable having them look at her. Upon seeing Ciro head to Perrie, Zayn retracted his steps and stood by her side as he had been a couple moments ago.
Confusion and anger was written all over Ciro's face, but not jealousy. The four of them looked at each other, but said nothing.
Perrie was at a loss of words as she continued to stare at her friends. She could not find the words to explain to them what has happened or how she felt because in all honesty, she didn't even know how she felt.
No one ever writes a book on how to handle heartbreak or what decisions one should make when they mess up. Everything from this moment was based on decisions that Perrie had made and as such, she felt more confused then ever.
"What's going on?" Ciro finally asked Abriella and Perrie.
Abriella ran her hand through her hair as she let out a breath. "I honestly have no idea, fratello."
"I can explain." Perrie found herself saying, despite the fact that she couldn't. Not when she didn't understand what was happening herself.
"You don't have to, Perrie." Ciro said sweetly as he began to notice the amount of anxiety radiating off her. "Let's just enjoy the night. Come on, we left Harry all alone."
Tears began to swell up in her eyes as she looked at Ciro. His kind heart was something she was not used to and was glad to have in her life. There was no judgement in his eyes, but she knew that he was aware of what happened. Maybe not everything, but he felt the change within Perrie.
Abriella turned to Perrie and found her already staring. "Please tell me nothing happened between you two, Perrie."
"Abri-" Ciro said, but was soon interrupted by his friend.
"Ciro, she can't hurt herself again!" Abriella scolded as her eyes met Perrie's for the hundredth time. "Perrie, don't get hurt again."
Ciro rushed to Abriella's side and gently grabbed her by her shoulders. "Abri, don't. "
"I have to talk to her, Ci." Abriella said as she turned to look at Ciro and saw the anxiousness in his eyes.
Perrie's heart began to beat viciously as she imagined where this was headed. She knew what Abriella was going to say: the logic in this situation. She just wasn't sure she wanted to hear it.
