The stars twinkled in the dark sky as the city below it watched. Perrie Edwards laid in the arms of the man she loved that night and looked at the stars as if they weren't from this world. Moments ago she had given herself to the love she has felt for so long, yet never dared admit. Now, it seemed like she was looking at the world for the very first time.
She was genuinely happy.
Zayn moved gently next to her, interrupting her thoughts. His hazel eyes shined in the night and his smile held a warmth that melted her heart. "What's on your mind, Perrie?"
She sighed and turned to look back at the night sky. "About how happy I am."
"I'm happy too." He said as he placed his head in the crook of her neck and pulled her closer. "There are no words to describe what I feel in this moment."
Perrie smiled. These past moments seemed like a fairy tale as she turned to face the man she loved. Every time she looked at him it felt like the first time she fell in love with him. She thought about the possibility of having a future with him and with that thought the fantasy wall came down.
She remembered the ball down stairs and all those that were waiting for her, like Ciro. Her heart ached as she thought about him when she realized her heart knew the name of the person it dreamed of. At the same time, her mind reminded her of how far she had come to go back.
Reality kicked in and with that Perrie knew that she had to wake up from this fantasy.
This wasn't real life, she thought as she stood up.
Zayn's eyebrows furrowed and he reached for her arm before she left his side. "Where are you going?"
"Back to reality." She whispered.
"What are you talking about?" He asked, not understanding the sudden change in mood.
She sighed. "This was amazing, but I have to go back."
"Perrie, don't worry about what might happen. Just live in this moment with me," Zayn's soft voice sent chills down her spine as he guided her to the pillows and gently laid her down. With the back of his hand he caressed her cheeks, brushing his fingers on her lips. He leaned down, their foreheads touching and their eyes locked on each other as Zayn kissed her.
Perrie wanted nothing more than to stay in his arms that night, even when she knew that her actions would hurt those around her when she returned to reality.
"I love you, Perrie Edwards." Zayn whispered into her ear causing her heart to beat faster.
She closed her eyes as she tried to remember these moments because everything felt like a dream. This was a dream that she didn't want to wake up from.
"I'm in love with you, Zayn Malik."
