Play the song when I say otherwise it won't make sense.
Perrie thanked her lucky stars that Abriella had decided to call her in that moment because she didn't know how much longer she could be in the same room as Zayn.
"Can you hear me, Perrie?" Abriella asked her through the phone.
"I'm fine. I just bumped into Zayn at Harry's apartment and I needed to leave." She could feel her eyes sting with tears, but she refused to let them form.
"Oh, Perrie-" She couldn't hear what Abriella said after because a shout of her name made her turn.
Zayn was running to Perrie. His eyes filled with an emotion Perrie couldn't quite comprehend . When he finally reached her he was gasping for air.
"Zayn, what are you doing?" Perrie put her hand on his shoulder, as a way to help him stand.
"I need to talk to you Perrie." Zayn said in between shallow breaths.
"Perrie? Are you still there?"
Perrie had forgotten that Abriella was on the phone. "I'm sorry Bella, I have to call you back later."
"But, it's important Perrie-" Perrie could hear the fear in Abriella's voice, but chose to ignore it for the time being seeing as how Zayn was now in front of her. She ended the call, but with a very heavy heart.
After a moment Zayn finally seemed to catch his breath.
"You know I only walked like five minutes from the building, right?" Perrie laughed, but didn't let go of him.
"I wanted to talk to you and after you left I went after you, but the elevator wouldn't hurry up and I didn't want to lose you, again. So I took the stairs."
Perrie stood there in complete shock, "Zayn, that was twelve flights of stairs!"
Zayn looked at her again, not breaking his gaze. "I didn't want to lose you, again."
Something about the way Zayn said that last word gave Perrie the impression he didn't just mean tonight.
Perrie, without meaning to, stuttered. "You w-wanted to talk to me?"
"Of course, I always want to talk to you."
Perrie's mind and heart started racing. She knew that they did indeed need to talk, but she didn't know if she could right now. Perrie pushed all those feelings aside. "Okay, Zayn, let's talk."
Zayn told Perrie how he wanted to take her to his music studio and show her his new album that had been working so hard on. Every step to his car seemed like an eternity and Perrie wished with all her heart that Abriella and Ciro were here with her. Occasionally, Zayn's hand would brush against Perrie's when they were in his car and Perrie noticed how Zayn tensed when she quickly moved away. The ride there was awkward, to say the least and Zayn tried making small talk to pass time, but Perrie would only answer brief responses.
"How was Italy?" He asked, his eyes on the road the entire time.
"Great. How's Gigi?" She didn't know why she asked that.
"Good. She's doing good." Silence. "Did you meet new people?"
"I did. I made two new friends who I hope to see again."
"Cool."
Perrie hoped that Zayn would stop being so nice and stop with his question because with every question she was growing irritated. Back in Harry's apartment she used all her strength to keep her head calm and pretend Zayn was just Zayn. Not the guy who had destroyed her. Yet, having him here with her was a different story. When they finally arrived at the studio Perrie let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding.
