"Are you alright?" Ward asked Nat.
"A bit tied up at the moment, how about you?"
Ward let out a small chuckle at he attempt of humor.
"Bear with me for a second," he replied. He rubbed the back of his head against the back of her head, since she was tied to a chair behind him. He rubbed his head until the back of his blindfold was pushed up far enough that he was able to tilt his head and slide it off. He looked around the room, "ok so, looks like the same room you were being held in earlier. Only one exit, about five or six security cameras and a one way mirror."
"So they're watching us," she stated it more as a fact than as a question.
"Yeah."
"Alright, hang on a sec," she did the same thing as he did to remove the blindfold and tilted her head, throwing it to the floor.
"Do we have an escape plan yet?" she asked, barely above a whisper.
"No, but I'm open to ideas."
She swore in Russian when she heard the door click, indicating that someone was about to walk in.
"So I see you've gotten your blindfolds off, then," a man in his early 20s acknowledged. He had black hair slicked back with some sort of gel, and was wearing a gray suit and red tie. He had a scar going across his jaw line that indicated he had been in a fight just about a week ago.
"Should've tied them tighter if you didn't want two of the best spies in the world to be able to take them off," Romanoff snarled.
"It would do you well, Natalia, to keep your mouth shut around here. There are many people within the vicinity that would love to get their hands on you."
"What, and you don't?"
He shook his head slightly, "no, not kill you. Not yet."
"Great," she rolled her eyes, "I'm so scared."
He threw a knife and it flew so close to her that is slightly cut part of her cheek, "that was a warning. The next one won't be."
Ward sighed, "look can we just get on with this already? I've kind of got plans."
The man walked over to him, "you must be Grant Ward, our once fearless leader thought you were a fine specimen. Of course you did kill him last time you ran into him, but I suppose he was nearing the end of his time here anyway. Besides, now I get to take over, so I guess no harm done."
"Shouldn't really let his men hear you say that," Ward scoffed.
"They liked him less that I did."
"Right, well I couldn't really care less anyway," Ward said, keeping the man distracted as Natasha unhooked one of the zip ties around her wrists. She took it and shoved it into the back of Ward's gun that he kept in his back pocket. She fiddled around with the barrel until she had done what she wished to accomplish.
"What are you doing?" the man asked. He walked over to Natasha's side and saw what she was doing. He grabbed the gun from Ward's pocket and grinned an evil grin, "so you thought you were clever in hiding a gun?"
He pointed the gun at Ward, "looks like this just hasn't been your day."
He fired the gun and he let out a shriek of pain. When Natasha had been fiddling with the gun, she was able to change the direction of the bullet, like some guns were designed to do, so when their interrogator shot it he hit his hand causing him to drop the gun.
He collapsed on the ground and held his hand and glared at them, "you fools-"
"Fools?" Ward said as he stood up after successfully breaking free of his bonds with the knife Nat kept in her boot, "I don't know, I mean, we were able to make this whole interrogation backfire on you."
