Chapter 22

"So..." said Rose as she and Skye were hanging out in the lounge together, "you and Grant?"

Skye smiled and nodded, "me and Grant."

"I'm so happy for you Skye! When did you two get together?"

"Literally like...yesterday."

"Seriously? It took you guys that long? I haven't seen you in months and when I last saw you, you two were staring at each other like lovesick puppies! What took you so long?" Rose covered her mouth to suppress her giggles at her ridiculously oblivious friends.

"Nerves? I don't know. But I'm glad we did it, I really like him."

"Do you love him?" Rose raised an eyebrow and smirked.

She sheepishly nodded, "I think I do, yeah."

"He hasn't told me anything but I've known him long enough to sense his emotions, I mean Nat knows him better than I do so you could probably ask her too, but I think he loves you too."

"I don't know... We only became a couple yesterday, I don't want to scare him away by saying "I love you" so early on. I refuse to become a teenage girl again," Skye said firmly.

"I understand," Rose looked at the John Smith, "I really do."

"Speaking of John Smith... he's not the doctor?"

"No, he's not. He's half of the doctor, he's half time lord and half human, so he's the exact same as the Doctor except he can grow old with me," Rose said quietly as a small smile spread across her face.

"Grow old together? So you're getting married?" Skye asked, beyond confused.

"I don't know yet Skye, I'd like to think so, one day, yeah."

"Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you two," Skye smiled.

Rose started laughing, "thank you Skye. So, how about Jemma and Fitz? What's up with them?"

Skye looked puzzled, "nothing as far as I know... and trust me, I know almost everything that goes on on this plane." Skye raised an eyebrow, "why?"

"They just seem to be acting a bit different since I last saw them is all."

"I haven't noticed anything."

"Maybe it's just me then."
