Waking up without a huge headache is amazing, this is one of the many perks of not drinking. My dad is taking me to school this morning, and I'm thankful because I get to sleep a bit more and get ready to face another day where Marcel wants to hurt me.
Alexa is reluctant when she meets me at our lockers. I have no idea whether she feels guilty about letting me go, or if she is mad at me, but truth is, all I care about is ignoring Marcel.
The moment I open my locker, a tiny piece of paper falls to the ground. I pick it up, and notice the hand writing is the same as the hand writing on the note I got yesterday.
"Goood morning! Enjoy your day. :)"
Although I'm still pretty sure the guy keeps messing up the lockers, I have this feeling the notes are actually for me. It's not Marcel though, he has a different hand writing. I let the note float back to the ground and walk to my first class.
Alexa is in this class, and she sits next to me hesitantly. Of course, I'm mad, but hey, I got to meet Matt because of that argument and I didn't really need much comforting after all.
"Delilah, I'm sorry. I didn't know it was this bad." she whispers, her puppy dog eyes on full display.
"It's fine. Forget about it."
We turn our attention to the teacher.
"Today will be your very last lesson of English, kids. The next time I'll see you, we will start the recap for your finals." our teacher stops and places her hand over her mouth, shaking her head slightly. "I'm so sorry, I always get emotional. It's hard letting go of you all... Anyway, back to the lesson."
It's only now that I remember how little there is to go until finals, and how close we are to finishing high school. I can't wait to apply for uni, I've been waiting for this since I was in 7th grade, and the time has finaly come.
At lunch time, Alexa disappears with Zayn and I'm left alone again. I'm standing in the middle of the cafeteria, looking around for a free table or nerds that would be too scared to comment if I sat with them. I guess I'm one of those nerds too now. I saw Marcel a while ago, he's sitting at Zayn's table. Well, Zayn isn't there but Louis has taken over the entertaining duties, making Niall choke on his food and Marcel laugh that adorable laugh of his. That leather jacket suits Marcel so well too...
"Delilah!" Matt stops in front of me, grinning.
"Matt? How did yo- I didn't know you studied here!" this is one of the biggest surprises. I thought I knew everyone in this high school, but obviously I don't. It's January and I never knew Matt was in this same building everyday.
"Yeah, well... I'm a Junior so you know we have that other part of the building..."
"Oh, yeah, I know. Funny I never saw you around here either though. Are you gonna sit with your friends or...?"
"Yeah, you can come sit with us."
I follow him to his table, where a girl, a boy and Leeroy are sat. The Juniors I don't know introduce themselves as Lanna and Cameron, and Leeroy just avoids me. He's glancing from time to time at Marcel's table, and I understand everything he's going through. His best friend no longer his.
Turns out everyone in Matt's group is really nice and funny, and they invite me to hang out after school. I would absolutely love to, but I should really start studying for my finals. As the break goes shorter, the lump in my throat goes bigger. Marcel will be in my next class, and we used to always sit together.
When I walk inside, Marcel is chatting to Zayn. I shoot Alexa's boyfriend a furious look, and take a seat at an empty table. As usual, Zayn is in the back of the class, and I'm in the second row, so I won't be able to occupy myself by glancing at Marcel during this class.
