That was never It!!

Two weeks to their graduation and Isabelle was afraid she might be separated from Aliyah. Aliyah had told her once that if she doesn't get a job immediately after graduation she will have to  go back to Amman.

Aliyah was happy she was going to graduate. She needed to find a job as soon as possible if she wants to stay in New York.

"Where are you going?" Isabelle asked her one morning.

"Job hunting."

"Any ideas where to start?"

"Yea. Some CEO at Carter's gaming company wants a PA."

"So cool. If you get hired we will get free video games."

"I doubt if I can get the job. Plus I don't want to do harram job."

"Yea right. Go and get us free video games."

"I don't want a new assistant. Where is Malik?" Hanif asked the manager angrily.

"You dad wants to transfer you to the LA branch and Malik works here in New York. His family is here." He tried to explain to Hanif.

"Then why don't I hire one from LA." Hanif suggested.

"Your dad says New Yorkers are better."

"Alright then. How many people have showed up for the job?"

"Six."

"Send in the best three."

"On it."

Aliyah was nervous. There were six of them. Four were men. The other lady looked hot. She was barely wearing a thing.

I am sure they will hire the girl with the tight dress not the frump who covers her head. Aliyah thought.

She looked around, she was the only one who was not carrying any document. Who am I kidding. I will never get this job. The voice in her head said.

She got on her feet and started walking out of the waiting room fast with her eyes fixed on the ground.  She heard someone mourning in pain in front of her. She looked up and felt so embarrassed. She had bumped into a tall man and made him poured hot coffee on himself.

"I  am so sorry. I wasn't even looking. I am so sorry." Aliyah felt so stupid at the moment.

"It's okay." The man said with a smile. Aliyah immediately recognized him. He was the guy that gave him a ride the other night. "Nice bumping into you."

"I am sorry once more." Aliyah smiled at him.

"It's okay. You here for the interview?"

"Yea but I was just leaving."

"Why?"

"Just look at these guys. I don't stand a chance."

"Let me tell you." Hanif smirked and got closer to her. "That man is too old. That other one is too boring. Oooh and this one is too fat and that one is too nerdy."

Aliyah laughed. "What about her?"

Hanif looked at her once and turned away.

"Too naked." Aliyah laughed even louder.

"Sup man!" A guy with a dark completion came and hugged him the "bro hug"

"Yow! Can't believe you are leaving for LA." The dark guy said.

"The old man orders, I obey." He replied.

"I will miss you buddy. Now I am going to be your sister's PA and she is mean."

"I know and good luck with her."

"And who is this cute Hijabi?" He asked finally recognising her presence.

"Sorry I didn't introduce you. Malik meet.." He stopped after realising he didn't even know her name. "This is so embarrassing. I didn't get your name."

"I am Aliyah, Aliyah Amin." She couldn't help but laugh.

"Malik. And I am single."

"Dude! She is my PA." He said with a smile.

"What!" Aliyah couldn't believe her ears.

"I am sorry I didn't introduce myself. I am Hanif Carter. Your boss."

"Wait, I am hired without an interview. I haven't even graduated yet."

"That's how I got hired too." Malik said. "He just came and talked to me  at the waiting room and then told me he was my boss."

"Wow! Thanks." Aliyah smiled .
Alhamdullilah. The voice in her head went.

"I gotta warn you. Your  boss is weird. He works at night and spends most of his daytime sleeping." Malik said and  Hanif punched him teasingly.

"Thank you." Aliyah said. "It means  a lot."

"Did he mention that you will be moving to LA now." Malik said and she almost jumped up and down. She always wanted to see LA now she will get to live there.

"But I can't afford-"

"Relax the company takes care of everything." Hanif said and Aliyah was so excited.

"Don't you think you should call off this interview." Malik said and Hanif started walking away.

"Get ready. We will be leaving in a month." He said while walking away.

Aliyah was so happy. She couldn't wait to break the news to  Isabelle.
