"Aliyah! " Haytham shouted from the bedroom. That's how it has always been. Every morning came with a new set of drama.
"Oh, Allah!" She took a deep breath and left the kitchen.
"Aliyah!" He shouted again.
They were getting late. They had a plane to catch and they were running late but Haytham was behaving like a kid again.
"Stop shouting, am coming." She said and smiled at how childish he was.
"I warned you not to marry him. " Haytham's mom said with a smile.
"Aliyaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" This time it was louder than normal.
"Haytham, have you gone mad? Why are you shouting my name. I am not in Pluto and my hearing is perfectly normal." She said with her hands on her waist.
"My thobe!" He was looking at the closet. "I can't find my thobe."
Aliyah could not believe he called her there to just ask her about his thobe.
"Exactly which one are you looking for? We are running late and this time it's your fault." Aliyah was trying hard not to laugh.
"The new one."
"Be more specific if you need my help."
"The one I bought when we went for Hajj."
Aliyah knew exactly where she had kept it, she went to get it but it was nowhere to be seen.
"Am pretty sure I kept it here last night but I can't find it."
"Aliyah, please help me find it." He sounded like a five year old.
"Daddy." Their little munchkin walked in the room with her hands behind her back. She was trying to hide something obviously too big for her little hands to handle.
"Yes princess." Haytham answered without even looking at her. Aliyah noticed little Riyah was being extra polite and immediately sensed something was up with her. She was extra smart for a five year old.
"I was playing in your room after fajr and I kinda spilled some ink on this."
She said and showed them the thobe that Haytham was looking for."Oh no!" Haytham said in a voice he had no idea he had. Aliyah examined it and realised it could be washed away but that will take some time.
"Relax, I will fix it." Aliyah said with a smile.
"You will?" He held her hand smiling.
"Yea, it's pretty simple but first get ready. You and Riyah are going to make us miss the plane." She took the thobe.
"Hayati, I want to wear that to the wedding and.. " He said and looked at her.
"I will clean it as soon as we reach LA." She reassured him with a smile.
"Am so sorry Daddy. " started Riyah with her adorable tiny voice. "It was not my fault. I didn't see the ink and.. "
"Shhhishhh! Let's get you ready before your mom starts shouting at us."
"Okay Daddy!"
"I heard that!" Aliyah shouted from the kitchen.
"Sorry mom!" They chorused and Aliyah laughed.
"Alhamdullilah." She whispered for the millionth time.

The flight from London to LA was exhausting. Haytham ended up with one of his famous 'flight trauma'. Aliyah was having a hard time with both of them. Little Riyah was just shouting and screaming for no reason.
