Aliyah couldn't stop crying after they arrived. She was too happy the tears couldn't stop flowing. The love she had for those two surpasses everything in the whole world. She kept on thanking Hanif for bringing them home. He nodded telling her it was just a coincidence he ran into them.
Ahsad was all grown up. He even had some beards. He had grown up to be more handsome. His beauty was different from Yazid's. He had that aura that would make anyone look twice.
Her father, her Abu. The most precious man in the world to her. He was older. Probably weaker. His eyes seemed to lose the light that used to sparkle every time her mother smiled.
Mama, she thought of her everyday and night. Oh how she loved her. Her smile and her ginger tea. Seeing her brother and father made her miss Yazid and her mother even more.
"Don't cry my child." Her father hugged her. He was trying hard not to cry. It had been along year. The struggles at Jordan and trying hard to marry her off to a family in the United States. He didn't want her to suffer poverty and insecurity in Amman. He loved her too much.
"Hey, that's enough now." Ahsad finally spoke. "Don't make us cry."
"I can't believe you guys came to visit." She said and hugged her father again.
"Jaffar called and told us to come." Ahsad said. "Plus Ramadhan is in a few days and I have missed your tea. I can't start fasting without drinking that."
Aliyah smiled, Jaffar was trying to make up for his crime.
"It doesn't matter. I am so happpppppy you came." She messed up his hair and he groaned. She loved doing that.
After catching up and drinking her famous tea, they started chatting about random things. Aliyah was so happy that she forgot her problems for a moment.
"Thanks again." She whispered to Hanif and he smiled.
It's not everyone who thanks people for every little thing. It's cute how she would always be grateful for everything.
"Have you seen Haytham by any chance?" She asked him and he looked at her. Not sure whether he should lie or tell the truth.
"He left. I went looking for him at hotel and he was leaving. I followed him to the airport and that's how I ran into your family." He went for the truth.
Aliyah felt a painful lamp in her throat. He left. Haytham left her again. He wasn't married to anyone and he still left. That meant one thing to her; she didn't matter and he didn't love her anymore.
She walked to her room before the tears started flowing. Isabelle followed her. She broke down in her arms immediately.
"Come on Aliyah, you are stronger than you think." Isabelle whispered. "You will get through this."

Haytham had never hated traffic jams this much before in his entire life. He felt like driving over the cars or flying over them if possible.
It's crazy how sometime one feels like the whole universe is against you. As if it doesn't want you to reach your destination. You feel like time itself is dragging by slowly. With every passing second you feel incarcerated. Poor Haytham wanted to fly away and reach Aliyah. He wasn't sure what he was going to tell her or how but he couldn't wait to reach her.
After half an hour (which felt like ages), he finally arrived. There was only one lift and it was full then. It was in the evening and most people were heading back to their apartments.
He couldn't wait for the lift so he simply ran all the way. He was panting and sweaty by the time he reached the 13th floor.
"This better be worth it." He said while trying to catch his breath.
At the door, he checked to make sure he is not lost. Then he finally knocked it.
A young Arab guy opened the door. Haytham looked at him confused. He looked at the door and confirmed he wasn't lost."Aliyah," He started breathlessly. "Is she in?"
"You are Haytham, the journalist who knocked me out with a camera!" Ahsad hugged him with a smile on his face.
"I did?" Haytham was confused.
"Am Ahsad, Aliyah's brother." He introduced himself.
"Ooh hi," He could barely talk. "Can I talk to Aliyah?"
He walked in and was welcomed by a curious look on the old man's face and a smile on on Hanif's face.
This is it! It's time to man up!
