Isabelle could not believe her best friend was that lucky. She was happy for her. Aliyah insisted that Isabelle should move with her to LA. Isabelle was happy for the offer. After all the institute would want her out after graduation. She was worried that she might end up in the streets or be forced to do some odd job.
She was excited to go to LA. She couldn't wait to graduate the next day.
That afternoon they went shopping. They needed to buy a dress to wear to their graduation. They took all their savings from the funds the institute give them. It was all that they had. Aliyah was better off, her dad sent her some money.
"Good," Isabelle said as she counted the money. "This is enough for us to have fun shopping and eat food that is not from the food truck."
"Yea, we finally get to treat ourselves Izzy." Aliyah said.
"Don't call me that thing. You know I hate it." Isabelle complained on their way to the mall.
"Sorry Izzy." She repeated and Isabelle sighed.
Just as they were about to get in, Aliyah held Isabelle's arm with a tight grip. Her pupil dilated and her mouth dropped.
"Ouch." Isabelle said through her clenched jaw. She tried looking around to see what frightened her so much and saw nothing interesting. "What is wrong with you Drama queen?"
"What if he is here? What if I run into him? What if I am unlucky enough to be seen by him?" Aliyah was still holding on to Isabelle's arm.
"First of all, let go." She said and aliyah loosened her grip. "I will give you one answer for all of your questions: take a chill pill." She said and pulled her towards a store.

Jaffar was glad Aliyah was moving to LA. At least he could have a break from her lectures. He might even have fun like he used to before she came into his life.
He called Marla who picked at the first ring.
"What?" She hissed at him.
"At the apartment now!" He said it like an order.
"Why?"
"I have missed you and having fun. Can't remember the last time I had a nice beer with you by my side." He said with a smirk on his face trying hard to ignore his inner voice.
"I do. The day you got engaged to that 'Miss Hijabi' but I am on my way." She said and smiled. Her bad boy Jaffar was back and she had a plan that will help her keep him for as long as he is useful to her.

After hours of walking from one store to the other Isabelle was exhausted. Shopping was Aliyah's thing, not hers. She just wanted to go somewhere and eat. Aliyah kept dragging her until she felt like she had it."That's it!" She half yelled and half whispered. "We are going to Starbucks now!" She dragged Aliyah by her arm and didn't stop until they reached their destination. Aliyah watched as Isabelle ordered a latte large size, a large Burger and French fries.
"Wait," she said as the waiter was about to walk away. "One large smoothy."
Aliyah's eyes went wide open.
"Are you gonna eat all that?" She asked astonished.
"Nope, I am going to throw it away." She said and stuck her tongue out at her.
Aliyah just ordered a cheese sandwich and a medium sized latte. She then sat down and watched as Isabelle stuffed her face.
"I still don't understand how such a small body could take so much." She said absentmindedly.
"You seeing it. So believe it." Isabelle said with a smile. Just then Aliyah's phone beeped. She took it out and saw she had a message on Snapchat. She opened it and gasped. Her mouth automatically went wide open and her hand flew to cover it.
"How dare he?" She said angrily. "That does it. Abu will hear it from me. This engagement is over."
Isabelle grabbed her phone and smirked. "I knew there was something off about this guy."
Aliyah eyed her and Isabelle froze. "Okay sorry, I won't say I told you so." She said trying to suppress her smirk.
"I told you so." She said after a while and Aliyah smiled even though she didn't want to. "Men! Feels good to finally say that."
Aliyah pulled her close and messed her hair up. Isabelle pulled back and looked at her friend.
"Does it hurt?" She asked.
"Nope. You know I didn't want this marriage." She answered.
"I am so glad we have an evidence against him. Now your Abu won't have to force you into marrying a jerk like him." Isabelle smiled. Aliyah couldn't help but smile. She liked it when her friend tried to use some of the words she hears her using.
"Come on , I have to call Abu and tell him I don't wanna marry Jaffar." Aliyah said and they started walking back home.
