Bayden sighed. She promised herself she would not follow Haytham  but there she was again. Right behind him as he walked into his apartment. She lived two blocks away from him.

Why can't he love me back?  She wondered sadly. She has been crazy for him ever since she met him two years ago. With his rugged look and perfect blue eyes. She couldn't help but fall in love. He was perfect. So pure and sweet.

He will be mine! Eventually. She said and flipped her hair.

Aliyah could barely sit down on the car seat when they arrived  in LA. She just wanted to disappear in the crowds and run in the city lights. She thought New York was beautiful but there she was marveling at this perfect city.

"Welcome to LA Miss. Amin." The chauffeur said with a smile. "Nice seeing you again Mr Carter."

Hanif simply nodded. What happened to  the not-so-serious Boss? Aliyah thought.

"Please call me Aliyah." She said trying to contain her excitement.

"If you insist, Miss Aliyah." He said.

"No, I meant call-" Aliyah tried to protest. "Forget it!" She said with a satisfied smile.

I might just get used to this. She smirked. Hanif didn't talk much. She realised there was something off about him but she didn't ask.

They arrived at her new apartment and Aliyah's mouth dropped. It was fancy and beautiful. Everything about  it screamed style. From the interior decor to the perfect furniture. She just wanted to run around and check every room. It was big and she couldn't believe it was all hers.

"This will be your home for as long as you work for the Carter's gaming company." The chauffeur said and placed her bags near the door. "Goodnight Miss Aliyah." He said and took his leave.

Hanif who was standing at the door smiled at Aliyah and wished her a lovely night.

"Wait." Aliyah said. Hanif stopped at the door and didn't even look at her. "Thank you."

"It's okay." He said and walked out.

"Wait!" The second one was more of a shout.

"What?" He sounded annoyed. She  stood behind him and poked his back. He turned around and she immediately took two steps back.

"Is something wrong?" She looked concerned. It warmed his heart. It's been long since someone apart from Bernie cared for him. The serious look on his face softened and he cracked a smile.

"Not really but I will be fine. In Sha Allah." He said and Aliyah who was always a nag didn't want to let it go easily.

"You can talk to me about it." She finished with a smile.  He simply nodded. Aliyah let it go after it was clear he didn't want to talk about it.

"You have this week to settle down and tour the city. Work starts next week." He said and left.

Aliyah immediately ran into her bedroom. She jumped on the bed without taking off her shoes. It was so comfortable. Like the one she had at her old home. The apartment had two bedrooms, a  kitchen, a nice and comfortable living room and two bathrooms. It was on the thirteenth floor. She has never lived in an apartment so high before. She couldn't wait for Isabelle to arrive.

After an hour of running and jumping in her apartment she got tired and retired to bed. She couldn't even take off her hijab. She slept with everything she had on.

Jaffar was so mad when he was told Aliyah left. He had gone to look for her at the hostel. Isabelle being the joke she was, made fun of him. Jaffar made her tell where Aliyah went.

"She has a good job now. Her Allah made everything easy for her." Isabelle said with a satisfied smile.

Jaffar was so desperate. He had to bring her back. He had to. His father made it clear that he ought to. He had no other choice. He had only one more chance. He messes up, he is done for. He would have to go and live in Jordan and work at his father's firm whether he wants to or not. New York was his home. He was not gonna let it go easily. He will find her! Eventually.
