this patchwork heart
fashion the passion
for music and art?
Did the one who sewed it
in an instant for life
Layout the pattern
in every inch right?
Was this prepared
to be weathered and worn
until this moment
from the day we were born?
How shall we wash
such a stuffed heart with stains
Can we toss it into
the drier again?
Did the seamstress who stitched
every inch of its seams
just design it all
in their patchwork dreams?
