A/N: Sorry for the wait! All school + work and no play makes Cheyene a dull writer. Anyway! Here's the next chapter, enjoy a little drama, little smut, little romance. Let me know whether y'all would like Rivers POV or anything!

***

We ended up eating local food that night for dinner, while James mate Philip actually quit his job right then and there and came to stay at the hotel with us. I didn't look at them weird, although River explained that he was Andrews cousin and was coming back with us unexpectedly.

Which was complete bullshit, but I'm human so whatever.

The morning of the play I left the group and found my way to some type of salon, and had my hair cut and styled. I gave the hair dresser the last of my money, she had worked some serious magic on my unruly hair and had loosely curled it and pinned it back, letting a few whispeys hang to frame my face. My makeup had been done light and neutral, but still enough to make my cheekbones stand out and green eyes pop.

I stared at myself in the mirror as she took the towel off of my shoulders. For once in my life, I felt special. I felt beautiful, like I finally belonged in this shitty world filled with cruel people.

I slowly made my way back to the hotel and slipped in, avoiding any contact with the boys. I opened my room and slid of out of my clothes and into the dress. I stared at my body in the mirror while my phone buzzed, my eyes trained on a small scar right along my collar bone.

My mother had seen my eyes that had glowed as my wolf tried to come out, one of the many times she had grown sick of the way we were treated. She guzzled whatever was left in her whiskey bottle and broke it across my skin, and kept crunching the grass into my skin until I was on the ground and bleeding out.

I missed school for close to two weeks.

I finally opened my phone to a text from James telling me they were already in the lobby before slipping it into a small clutch, my feet sliding into a pair of white converses. As much as I liked heels and sandals, I couldn't even walk in heels, and hadn't thought to pack sandals. I was just glad my feet were completely covered by the tulle.

I made my way to the elevator and walked in to find the creepy receptionist from earlier standing in the corner, his eyes trained on me the moment the doors slid close. I shifted closer to the door, my fingers clenching and unclenching as I tried to not panic, his breathing filling the awkward silence.

"What's a pretty thing like you doing with a dumb Alpha?" My eyes widened at his words, how did he know what River was?

I sniffed the air as nonchalantly as I could, but came up with nothing but the smell of motor oil and gasoline. He was desperately trying to hide his smell, but what was he?

As soon as the door opened I rushed out, only to be thrown back a few feet to have him pin me to the wall. He hit a button on the elevator that shut the doors as an alarm went off, my eyes widening

"You didn't answer me."

"Let me the fuck go, or I will kill you. Although, maybe I should call that Alpha you seem to be so afraid of, he happens to be my mate you know." I growled out, his eyes widening as his face paled. "I'm assuming you're a Rogue? The alarm is probably already freaking him out."

As I spoke a loud crash hit the doors just as they flew open. My eyes widened as I made my face look terrified, Rivers face coming into my view followed by Andrew. His face relaxed before he saw the Rogues arm pinned on my throat, his eyes darkening as he growled a growl so deep I swear the elevator shook.
