Andrew led me to the pack house the party was held at, my hands clinging to him ungracefully. I was thankful he hoisted me into the balcony on the second floor, leading me into Rivers room. His room had deep red walls with books covering three of the four walls. His bed was pushed into a corner with a small acoustic guitar next to it and a small notepad. His bed smelt exactly like him, with floral sheets and a huge comforter, two pillows; although one was untouched and smelled completely new.
"Go shower, then we'll talk." I nodded as I walked into his adjoining bathroom, allowing myself the briefest moment to marvel over just how rich he was.
His shower was completely separate from his jacuzzi bathtub, with an overhead spout that shot out water like it was from the future or something. I swear, if I could marry inanimate objects, I'd marry this shower and never leave its side.
I wrapped myself in a towel and made my way into the room, fully aware that my scars and bruises were obvious and being stared at. My face lifted to see Andrews harsh one, quickly retreating as I walked into Rivers closet.
"Do you think he'd mind if I borrowed some of his clothes?" I whispered, knowing full well he could hear me.
"Probably not, since what happened tonight and everything. Although, you already know of our kind don't you." I didn't answer his cold tone, tugging on one of his grey t-shirts and a pair of his boxers.
I walked in and sat at the edge of the bed, my gaze not meeting Andrews form across the room as I spoke. I spoke so low the music below us almost drowned me out, Andrews body inching closer to me to listen.
"I'm a wolf Andrew, my father abandoned my mother when he met his mate the day after she got pregnant with me. She begged him not to go, but he left anyway. She was heartbroken, and form that day on, she hated wolves. She forbade me to ever be friends with them, and hid my scent. She's a witch, which makes me half witch, half wolf, although my wolf is the dominating side."
"So that's why we never smelt you or sensed you?" I nodded, my hands wringing themselves together.
"That's the story, now you know everything." I spoke, pulling up my knees to my chest.
"That doesn't explain everything." I looked back to him with furrowed eyebrows, his eyes boring holes into my legs and shoulders. I glanced down to see my bruises and scars on full display, yellow and green with how advanced the healing was.
"Andre-"
"Are you being, being-" I put my hand over his mouth, shutting my eyes as I curled into myself. "Just tell me Alaska, are you being abused?"
I always wished it was a human that would say that too me. Someone she couldn't get even more mad about taking me away from her, someone she couldn't kill. Someone that would take me away and give me the happy ending I always wanted so desperately.
"Andrew, I'm sorry." I heard him shift next to me and leave the bed, opening my eyes to find him kneeling in front of me. He shook his head at me, his hand grasping mine.
"We can get you out-"
"No! If I leave, she'll kill all of you, she'll kill River." My wolf howled in agony within me at the mere thought of her mate being hurt.
"That's bullshit!"
"Please!" Something about the agony in my voice must have made something snap within him. He took a breath before slowly nodding, his blue eyes looking back to me.
"Leave your mindlink open for me. If it ever gets too bad, call me. I will always come running, okay?" Something about Andrew made him feel like the brother I never had, like he was a missing puzzle piece in my broken and fucked up family. Andrews eyes darken as he looked at my thighs and my wrists.
