I opened my eyes and blinked. Once. Twice. A stary night sky was high above me, filled with dazzling, bright stars.
The stars were bright tonight.
Wait.
Didn't I already say that?
I leaned to a sitting position and looked around, then I realized I was surrounded by mobs. Zombie villagers.
I stumbled back and something caught my eyes, looking down, my jaw dropped.
My arms were green like a zombie. I was wearing zombies clothing as well. I held up my hand and found sharp claws that were glistening in the torch light of the lamp nearby. I had been turned into a zombie. I stared at the wall in horror- I had become the enemy!Suddenly I lost control of my body, a new craving striking through me- hunger.
I looked at the village wall above me and a non-animal like growl came out. I began to follow the other mobs toward the villagers at the top. Kill. Kill. Kill.
I snapped out of it and stumbled backwards, falling into a stream from a field of crops. I shook my head and stood up, holding my pounding head.
Kill. Kill. Kill. No.
I looked up and found Gameknight on the wall. Gameknight? I thought he...
I stood up and raced towards the secret back ladder I had seen earlier. I climbed up, but progress was slow, seeing as my limbs were stiff and... dead.
Eventually, I made it to the top and found Gameknight, Digger, Stitcher with their backs to me, all huddled around someone on the floor. Something moved behind then and I narrowed my eyes to see zombies quietly and quickly making their way towards them, trying to take them by surprise. I ran forward.
"TOMMY! Behind you!" I yelled, but all that came out was a bunch of growls. All of their heads snapped up, although all of them looking in different directions.
Hunter spotted me. Before either of us could blink, she had fired two arrows, the third in her bow.
Right.... I'm still a zombie. The arrows hit me and I bounced back, growling in pain when they hit me. Hunter look at me before releasing the last arrow.
"NightNinja?" She asked in surprise, dropping her arrow. I nodded quickly and put my hands up to show I wasn't going to attack. Something then growled from deep inside and hunger sent me forward. I charged forward, killing on my mind before I managed to control myself again. Hunter gave me a funny look.
I tried to give her a smile. "Do not ever do that again." She said with a shiver, signifying my probably horridly disturbing smile. Again, the zombie me- why?!
We heard a grunt from behind and turned to find at least fifty zombies sprinting toward us. Wonderful.
"You guys got to go!" I exclaimed. Hunter flinched and tightened her grip on her bow and gave me a side glance. Right. They can't understand me.
I waved my hands over my head and pointed the moat. Hunter looked at me like I was the Lunatic I was and nodded before running off towards the others. At least someone in then group has some common sense.
I watched as she pulled Tommy over to the most and pushed him in while he stared at the mass of zombies. She ran back to the others and tapped Digger on the shoulder.
"Grab Herder and let's go!"
I looked at the small boy on the ground and remembered slipping from the wall while saving him. An anger that was not mine arose within me.
Kill. Kill. Kill. No! This time I didn't have any control over myself. I charged forward toward the group.
Neither of them saw me, which was good, good. The more surprised they are, the easier they will be to destroy...
Right as I was about to tear into Digger, a part of me that was still human (or is it user?) twisted to the side and I slipped past, right into the mobs.
I shot up and saw the others, including Hunter and Stitcher, leap from the moat. I turned and ran also, jumping (more like falling since my limbs won't function) down.
I splashed into the water and kicked to the top, my arms stupidly hanging forward. Someone grabbed my shirt and yanked me out, causing me to instinctively growl.
Hunter wacked me over the head with her bow. "What's gotten into you?" She asked outloud. Gameknight frowned in the dark, which I could surprisingly see very well in.
"What are you talking about?" He asked. Hunter pulled out a torch. And his eyes flew to me, only to have his jaw drop. I gave him a very clear eye roll.
"Wh- What happened?" He asked.
"Death happened. What the hey am I gonna do about it?" I responded, trying to role my arms with a cocky body movement. Its best to say it did not work.
Hunter and Stitcher reached for their bows and Gameknight's hand went to his inventory while Digger pulled out a pickaxe. Herder, who was still laying on the floor asleep, moaned. I threw my hands up in surrender.
"Can she not talk? That's.... Odd. Normally zombies can talk. Why can't she talk?" Stitcher asked. Gameknight looked at me uncomfortably.
Hunger flooded into my system again. My arms shot forward at the same time growls came from behind. The others were distracted by the noise while I was going into zombie mode. Someone grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the village and we ran into the night. I looked at the hand on my arm and raised my other arm to scratch them. I pounced forward just as we swerved to the side, missing Hunter by an inch.
I pushed the feeling down and regained control of my actions and mind, but a stinky smell of rotten flesh was beginning to float of around me.
We ran until we pretty much collapsed at a nearby mountain. Gameknight tripped on a price of grass and got to taste some of the greenery while Stitcher collapsed to the floor and Hunter and Digger stopped, Digger falling to one knee and nearly dropping Herder.
Hunter let go of my arm and I looked down at it. Why did it seem more green? I quickly walked behind a tree as a hunger feeling took control. My face twisted into a face I would never make and I turned towards the group, arms raised. I began to rush forward, as fast as I could toward Gameknight, growling as I went.
Gameknight pushed himself up and I tripped over his foot, crashing to the ground and the craving for death disappearing.
"Woah, you OK Night?" He asked. I nodded quickly before getting up and walking toward the nearby trees.
I glanced behind to find only one person staring at me. Herder.
I walked faster until they couldn't see me and leaned against a tree. What was happening to me?! Why was I fighting with myself for control of my mind? I looked at the light behind me from the torches, hatred was what I felt. Why? I looked down and saw my pants changing ever so slowly to a green color- I stumbled back and a moan came out instead of a scream. I was becoming an actual zombie! Not just a user zombie.
I looked behind me fearfully. What was I going to do?
