"Um what are you doing?"
I snapped my head towards Jenna and gave her a sheepish smile. "I'm not doing anything."
She narrowed her eyes at me. "You've been hiding behind my back every time we change classes. Are you hiding from somebody?"
"N-No! Of course not. I would have done something if I was to hide. I didn't do aything." I said almost desperately. Damn it.
Jenna narrowed her eyes at me once more. "Alright. See you after school." She said then walked away to her class.
I sighed and leaned against the wall. Avoiding Gabriel was probably the most difficult thing I have ever tried. It was even more difficult than the Calcalus test conducted last week. I knew I had to face him sooner or later but right now, I just wanted to dig a hole and crawl into it for the rest of my life. This was too embarassing. Why did I have to bump my drunken self into him?
I sighed again and started walking towards Chemistry when my eyes landed on a suspicious looking Gabriel coming straight towards me. My eyes widened and I ducked into the nearest classroom. This should d-
I looked like a deer caught in headlights as every eye fell on me. Shit! I just entered a random classroom.
"Anything you want?" The teacher, whom I recognised to be Mr. Corney, asked.
"I-uh-I just-" I spotted Zach raising an eyebrow at me. His eyes were dancing in amusement.
"Yeah! Hi Zach!" I yelled then ran out before I could get asked any more questions.
As I ran outside, I bumped into someone and almost fell but I steadied myself.
"Oh my god! I'm so sor-" The words died in my throat as I realised it was Gabriel who I had bumped into. Wow. My luck was really really great. Note the sarcasm.
"Oh. Hi Gabriel!" I greeted chirpily, my cheeks hurting from smiling.
"Are you avoiding me Kramer?" He asked, eyes narrowed.
"N-No! Why would I avoid you?" I asked, feigning surprise. Considering my acting skills were really horrible, I knew he didn't buy it.
"Then how would you explain the changing routes, the ducking into classes, the avoiding eye contact thing you were doing the whole day. You do know we have Chemistry together now, and you were going to confront with me anyway right?" He asked, a small smirk on his devilishly handsome face.
"I was not doing that to avoid you! Oh my god! You have got it all wrong!" I denied, trying my best to convince him he was wrong. In which I was failing horribly.
"Then care to explain?"
"I-I was practicing my ninja skills."
Silence.
What the fuck did I say right now?
"Ninja skills, huh?" Gabriel asked with a scoff.
"What? I'm getting pretty good at it." I boasted, chest held high.
"With what I saw, you're failing miserably. Now tell me why are you avoiding me after literally forcing me to be your friend. I just want to know." He asked, crossing his arms, causing his muscles to flex from under his black tshirt mak-
Wait. What was I thinking?
I shook my head and looked down, suddenly interested in my shoes. "I was not avoiding you." I mumbled.
