•and I will give up this fight because I can't make you love me if you don't•
"Why is this surprise taking so long?" I whined as I leaned back against my seat.
We have been driving for more than one hour now and though it felt good to have the wind blowing on your face not so gently, I had to close the window of the car when my hair started flying really haphazardly to the point that I looked like Medusa performing some kind of ritual.
It was a miracle I didn't scare Gabriel off. Seeing that he lost himself in laughter so much that he had to stop at the side of the road so that he could calm down, I would like to think he was fairly amused rather than scared.
"I have a place in mind but it's still far so please shut up and let me drive you there." Gabriel said with a sweet smile.
I tried not to, but I smiled anyways. I liked our relationship even though we were not dating. We insulted each other a lot yet found gratification in it. It's like we never changed. Did I think something would change if we ever start dating? I liked this side of us better than any change.
I wanted Gabriel to ask me to be his girlfriend soon though. The title of 'Gabriel's girlfriend's sounded entrancing enough.
I watched the trees go by in a blur for a while, making small talks with Gabriel, until I could see the lights of the town. It was buzzling with life and people had happy smiles on their face. I loved the town especially during the night.
"It's almost Halloween and so it's quite busier than usual. But let's take a walk around. It's okay right?" Gabriel hesitatingly asked.
I looked back at him with the happiest grin. "Are you kidding me? Walking around town during the night is like the best date ever. Especially when it's lively like tonight. Come on." I said and quickly got out of the car.
I was the kind of girl who found bliss in the littlest of things. So being able to just look around with the guy I loved, at the beautiful and cute little stalls lined across the street was a date worth remembering to me.
"Let's go see that stall!" I excitedly giggled as I held Gabriel's hand and pulled him towards a stall that contained really cute accecories.
I looked at the bracelets, the earrings and the necklaces present there. I was literally a sucker for cute things so my eyes were basically shining in awe.
"Here." Gabriel said, which made me look at him. When I turned, he slipped a necklace around my neck. It took me off guard but let the butterflies set free in my stomach none the less.
I looked down at the necklace after he put it on and I smiled when it saw it had an 'infinity' locket.
"You do have an eye for cute things." I teased as he paid the shopkeeper the money for the necklace.
"Well, I do have someone cute with me." He smiled and slipped his hands in mine, pulling me to the next stall.
When the hell did Gabriel O' Neal get this smooth? This was really bad for my heart.
For the next hour, we had visited most of the shops in this flea market. Now, I owned a baseball cap, feather earrings, a diary and a cute bear keychain. Gabriel insisted he pay for it all but I threatened to not kiss him for a whole week to which he easily backed off. I really had some threatenings up my sleeve.
"Are you cold?" Gabriel asked when he noticed me rub my arms. I let out a breath, watching the fog disappear and nodded.
"A little."
"Let's go get some coffee." He said, holding my hand and putting it inside his coat pocket. I instantly felt warm. On the outside as well as the inside.
