"We don't have any ingredients for the cookies." Lara sighed dejectedly.

"Nothing?" I asked, for confirmation.

"Nada." Luke replied, shaking his head.

"Fine. I'll go buy some from the store. No funny business you both." I said, with a playful warning and headed upstairs to change.

It was a sudden decision to make cookies after I came home today from school. We hadn't made cookies in a long time and I didn't know why but I craved for it today. Besides Luke made the best chocolate chip cookies and it was just a bonus that he was my sister's boyfriend. How lucky was I?

I changed into a black loose tshirt and a skinny jean, pairing it with a converse. I tied my hair in a high ponytail and I was done. Picking up my purse and phone, I headed downstairs again to see the most cringe-worthy sight.

"I told you guys no funny business." I scolded with a scowl and they pulled away from sucking each other's faces. Lara just laughed it off while Luke turned red from embarassment. I wondered how both of them, with completely different personalities, got together.

"I'm going. Atleast do it in the bedroom. Use protection too." I yelled jokingly as I walked towards the door. I smiled as I pictured how they would react. Lara would probably wink at Luke suggestively while Luke would be a nervous mess. They were too cute.

I opened the door just in time to see Zach standing there with his hands raised, probably to knock.

"Zach? What are you doing here?" I asked, surprised.

"Can't I visit my best friend's house?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.

"You can of course." I replied with a smile. Lately I felt like he was being distant. Now that he came, I knew we were okay as of now.

"Where are you going?" He asked, eyeing my outfit curiously.

"We're making cookies and there were no ingredients so I was going to the store. If you don't want to stay here being the third wheel with Luke and Lara then you can come with me. " I shrugged.

"I'll come with you." He nodded with a smile.

I nodded back and stepped outside, closing the door. I smiled involuntarily as I checked him out. We kinda matched with him wearing a black tshirt; dark jeans and converse.

"Checking me out?" Zach asked, bringing my gaze back to his teasing brown eyes.

"You wish. I was just looking at how we match." I rolled my eyes and pushed past him.

Zach chuckled and fell into step with me then slung his arm around me, bringing me close to him.

Cue the abnormal beating of my heart.

"Well it is good this way. We can act like a couple and no guy can put their eyes on you." He joked.

But it was enough to make my heart race and butterfiles to erupt in my belly.

He is just kidding, Elliana.

I sighed. "Now why would you do that?" I asked, frustrated.

"Because any guy that wants to date with you has to go through me first. I can't see you hurt you know. Guys are really unpredictable creatures." He ruffled my ponytail.

He was already hurting me though. Even though he said those words, I smiled because he was looking out for me.

"You do know you fall in the guy's category right?" I asked, smirking a little.
