•it's risky, it's scary. Everything could fall apart. But what if it all comes together?•
"I have something important to tell you."
Zach loosened the hold he had on me to raise his head up and look down at me. "And what is it?"
I gulped, desperately holding onto the little courage I had managed to grasp into. Maybe it was the spur of the moment kind of thing that made me want to finally tell him my hidden feelings.
My heart was racing abnormally fast that I was beginning to think was not even healthy, my palms over his chest was starting to get sweaty out of the nervousness and anxiety. What would he say? Would he be shocked? Surprised? Of course he would. I was attacking him out of the blue. But I had to do this.
"Don't tell me you're dating somebody." Zach said as his eyes widened and he sat up straight on the bed.
"What?" I asked as I sat up as well.
"Who's the kid? I would want to meet him face to face."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, now seriously confused.
"Yesterday, you had a date right? Maddison told me that was the most logical reason for you to ditch our adventure time together. And so your date proposed and you said yes and you're dating now right?" He asked, in a breath.
"Wait. Hold up. I'm not dating anyone!" I said, a little loudly.
"You're not?" Zach asked.
"No! And where did she get the idea that I was on a date?" I asked back, a little annoyed.
"Then where were you yesterday? You didn't even tell me." He raised an eyebrow.
"I was wit-" I paused when I realised what I was about to say. Was it alright for me to say that I had gone with Gabriel for his mother's death anniversary?
"With?" Zach pushed.
I glared at him then looked down. I better not tell him. It was not my place to tell. And also I had a feeling he would get more angry if I mentioned Gabriel.
Before either one of us could say anything, someone clearing their throat caught our attention. We turned our heads towards the door to see Maddison giving us an awkward smile.
"Uh..your friends are here I guess. Is everything okay?" She asked, looking concerned.
"Yeah. We're coming in a while." Zach answered her with a small smile.
"Okay." She replied, glancing at us both before walking away.
"We're not done here." Zach said blankly then stood up.
"Believe me, there's nothing left to say." I said with a glare then walked out of his room.
Now the mood was gone and I couldn't tell him about my feelings anymore. I couldn't believe we argued again.
I saw all of my friends sitting down on the couches as I reached the last step. Brett was talking with Maddison, Kiara and Chance were talking in soft whispers, and Gemma was reading a book while Jenna was on her phone.
"Hey guys." Zach greeted from behind me and all of them looked up to us.
"Is it just me or did the air around us just get heavy?" Brett asked, looking around curiously.
I rolled my eyes at his question and plopped down next to him while Zach said down next to Maddison. It irked me somehow.
"Zach and Elliana were arguing I guess. I saw them looking pretty tensed when I entered his room." Maddison said worriedly. Did she seriously have to tell that?
