My heat raced as my dad gripped my hand. I looked straight ahead to see my future husband standing in front of everyone looking so nervous. The song began to play. It was "Love Me Now" by John Legend. He was actually there in person to sing it, at a slowed down pace that I could walk down the aisle to. Everything was so wonderful, I couldn't believe it.
"No matter what, you're still my little princess," my father said as he gripped my hand even tighter.
"I love you dad," words I haven't actually said in so long.
"I love you too,"
I looked at him, and I noticed he had tears in his eyes. I couldn't believe it. It actually made me smile, we're finally close, we are finally like I had always wanted to be. Finally the part of the song came on where it was time for me to start walking. Slowly, my dad and I walked down the aisle.
When we reached the end, he hesitantly let go of my hand and took a seat next to my mother who was smiling so hard. Finally I looked at Jay and he looked at me. The officiator began talking but I really didn't hear him. I was just ready for us to begin reciting our vows.
"This couple has written their own vows that they would now like to say,"
I was first, so I started with mine.
"Shawn, I never thought that we would make it this far. I never thought I'd have the honor of one day becoming your wife. I still remember when we first met, outside of your town. You saved me from some bad people that day. Ever since then, that's what you've been doing. I never knew I was lost, or that I needed help until I met you. For a long time I had just been going through the motions, never allowing my emotions to come out. I never knew the true meaning of love until I met you. Jay, you are my hero, you are my rock. I vow to be your other half, the part of you that you've been missing all these years. I love you Shawn, and thank you, for saving me,"
After I finished saying my vows I looked up and noticed that Shawn had tears in his eyes. Everyone said "Aww," once they noticed it. He literally couldn't even speak correctly and it shocked me.
"Beyonce, from the moment I first laid eyes on you, I knew you were gonna be trouble,"
Everyone, including me started laughing when he said that.
"You made me change my ways. You put your faith into me. Everyone kept telling you I was no good but you kept loving me. When I gave you every reason not to love me, all you did was love me harder. Nothing is guaranteed, but I hope that what we have lasts forever. Your name is basically tatted on my heart. I don't even believe death could truly make us part Bey. I promise to cherish you and treat you like the queen that you are. It is no longer you, and no longer me. It is only us, and with you my heart will always be,"
Tears began to fill my eyes and I kissed him before it was even time to.
"Well you beat me to the you may kiss the bride part," the officiator said with a chuckle.
After the ceremony was over everyone walked into the next room for the reception. It was so beautiful. I didn't personally plan it, Jay did actually. It was a surprise to me and he did an amazing job.
We sat at a private table and watched as people told stories about us and I couldn't help but smile. Blue was sitting up there with us, playing with her dads ear and talking our heads off. I looked around and smiled. Everything was so beautiful and finally we were where we wanted to be at. I looked at the ring on my finger and looked at my beautiful family. Shawn really did save me from that cage that my family called a home growing up. When I was at my lowest, he even saved me from myself."Bey, I love you," Jay said to me.
"I love you more,"
"You know, when we get to this resort, you're mine" he whispered in my ear while I bit down on my lip.
