I stood in front of the Barrow family for several minutes. I don't have a the best relationship with them and last time I stood in a room with them it didn't go well. I finally sucked it up and knocked. Mare's mother opened the door. She is a tiny woman and her face is red from tears. She tries to hide that she was crying by painting a smile on her face but it was easy to tell she was in pain. She gestured for me to enter. Once in she softly shut the door and went back to sit next to her husband. They had one of the larger rooms. It wasn't big enough even though it had three rooms total. Everyone sat in the living room. Shade and Farley sit holding each other. Shade is calming down from a long cry. Mare's mother sits silently trying to calm her tears as well. Her father, Bree, and Tramy all looked angry. Sadly Gisa is no where to be seen. "I won't take to long but I thought you guys deserve a report. Mare is fine. She will live, she will be weak in many ways but she will live. We are very lucky to have saved a woman named Sara Skonos. She is a skin healer and without her Mare would not have a good outcome. Sara is healing Mare as best she can. She also found that the sword punctured her spinal cord and Mare would be paralyzed from the waist down but thankfully she will be back to normal soon." The last part was a lie and everyone knew it. Mare would never be normal again. She has endured to much to return back to normal. Relief rushes over everybody but the grieving didn't stop. "I was heading over to the medical unit if anyone wants to come." Farley and Shade stand. Shade has calmed down fully. Everyone else stays seated and lightly shakes there their head. To my surprise Gisa has poked her head out from what I think is one of the bedrooms. "I'm coming." No one questions her and I take that as our sign to leave.

The silence that is present during the walk is deadly. Everyone is to deep into thought to say something. "Shade, what happened? Who hurt Mare?" I didn't realize that I said that out loud until he started to answer "I don't think that is appropriate to talk about in front of Gisa." Shade said softly. I understand and don't push him further on it. I look over at Gisa and she is now scowling. "Shade, what happened." Gisa commanded. This shocked everyone. Gisa has grown stronger with her time with the Scarlet Guard and she is no longer the dainty thing I remember her to be."Now is not the time." Shade said trying to match Gisa's tone. The silence returned and it stayed.
