We all finally made it to the medical unit. Cal walked ahead of the three of us. He was eager to get back. Cal is not my favorite and the last person I would pair Mare with. Not only is he a silver but he was going to be king. He was going to rule just like his father and generations before him. Reds in the dust and Silvers in the clouds. But Mare loves him. He loves her. I just want Mare to be happy and if Cal makes her happy so be it. My heart skips a beat as we reach her door. Cal opens it and walks in like it was any other room. He walks over to the one of the corners and drags the only chair next to the bed. Cal lays the blanket he has been carrying over the chair. He turns and acknowledges us for the first time. Farley, Gisa, and I stand frozen in the door. Farley breaks first. She walks over to Mare. Farley is a strong girl and knows how to hide her emotions, one of the many reasons why I love her but as she gazes upon Mare a single tear falls. She quickly takes a deep breathe and stiffens trying to hide the tear. I try to move to comfort her but my body refuses to move. Gisa slowly walks towards Mare next. Gisa takes one look at her and the tears fall again. Farley embraces Gisa as a mother would. Gisa's light cries are muffled. This was the first I had seen Gisa cry about the accident. After we returned to the room Gisa had locked herself away. Some how I walked over to Mare and decided to stand on the other side of the bed. I grab her hand and am surprised how could it is. "This is all my fault" I say quietly hoping no one heard me. "What?" Farley asks softly. "This is all my fault. If I was a second sooner she would be safe. She would be walking around her all moody and bossy." a small chuckle leaves me. "It's all my fault." I lower my head not wanting to face any of them "Shade, what happened?" Cal asks again. I guess now is the best time to tell them. "I'm not sure, it happened so fast. All I know is I appeared, grabbed her, and then we were in the jet. Farley grabbed me and we hugged. I should of known something was wrong. I asked her whats wrong and she slowly turned around. Cameron let out a small shriek and I saw the blade. She looked at me... she looked me dead... she looked me in the eye... there was a quick look of fear but it was turned into nothing and she collapsed." I dare to look up at them. The dreaded silence has returned. Gisa has stopped crying and now just holds on to Farley. We all stood there watching Mare. each wishing she would wake up.
