13; Welcome To California
{April 10, 2012}
We arrived in Cali two hours ago. We're currently in the car with my cousin, driving to my aunt's house. "So, who's the Aussie?" My cousin, Ryan, asked.
"Ashton, we told you in the airport." I said and Ryan rolled his eyes.
"I don't trust him." Ryan asked.
"Of course you don't." My father said and Ashton looked at me.
"Is he ok?" Ashton asked me.
I nodded. "He's fine, just a bit protective." I said and Ryan glared at me through the rear view mirror.
"What? You are." I said and my father nodded.
Ryan parked the car in front of my aunt's house. "Let's go." He said and we got out of the car. I grabbed my suitcase and Ashton smiled at me.
"Is this how I meet your family?" Ashton asked and threw his bag over his shoulder.
"Yes but you're not even my boyfriend." I said and took his hand.
"Welcome to California." I smiled and dragged Ashton into the house.
I heard people yelling and arguing, making me smile. "Home sweet home." I smiled and my dad pat my shoulder. "Welcome back kid." He said and walked into the living room with Ryan.
I smiled and looked at Ashton. "Let's go show my family who I've been hanging with." I said and we walked into living room.
I looked at Ashton and he leaned down to whisper in my ear. "If anyone asks, can we just say we're dating?" Ashton asked quickly.
I nodded. "Sure. Just to shut them up." I said and he nodded.
"Oh!! Hazel!!" My aunt cheered and ran over, hugging me.
I smiled and hugged her back, dropping my bag. "Hey Aunt Mika." I said and she let go of me to look at Ashton.
"Oh you brought your boyfriend." Aunt Mika said and I smiled, looking down.
"He kinda jumped in the car saying he was coming with us." I said and Ashton put his arm around my waist.
"Hazel, you gave me no choice." Ashton said.
"I didn't even give you a question." I said.
"Well, I was gonna take you on a date but then this happened." Ashton said and I blushed.
"Shut up." I said and Ashton smiled.
"So, how long are we here again?" Ashton asked.
"Three weeks." Ryan growled at Ashton and I smacked him.
"Ryan shut up." I said and he rubbed his arm.
"I didn't say anything." He said.
"You were thinking it. I'm an only child so stop acting like my brother." I said.
"You-" I glared at my father and he backed off.
"Never mind." He said and I smirked.
"Come on, I'll show you our room." I said and dragged Ashton out of the living room. We left the house and walked to the treehouse in the backyard.
"I thought our room was in the house." Ashton said.
"No. My family knows me very well so they let me take this treehouse and use it as a room." I said and we climbed the ladder to the treehouse.
"It's an actual house in the trees and that's why they keep it." I said and pulled our bags up the ladder.
I set them on the floor and Ashton looked around in shock. "The roof is taller than mine." Ashton said and I smiled, turning the lights on.
"Well I need a tall roof to walk around." I said and sat on my couch. Ashton sat next to me and smiled at me, putting his arm around my shoulders.
"So, what now?" He asked and I looked at him.
"I really don't know. Besides hiding from my family, we can do nothing." I said and Ashton kissed my cheek.
I blushed and Ashton kept kissing my cheek. I giggled and pushed Ashton off. "S-Stop." I laughed, falling onto my back, on the couch. Ashton hovered over me and smirked.
"So, want me to stop?" He asked, kissing my neck.
I gasped in surprise and he smirked through the kiss. "A-Ash." I stampered, trying to push him off.
He put his hand above my head and the other on my waist, moving his lips towards my own lips. "Do you want me to stop now?" He asked through the kiss.
I shook my head and he looked at me, a smirk plastered across his face. "Good." He said and kissed my lips.
I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer, causing him to fall down on top of me. He deepened the kiss, making a small moan to escape from my mouth. Just as Ashton bit my lip, there was a knock at on the tree trunk.
"Damn." Ashton mumbled, getting off me. He helped me up and looked through the window.
"It's your cousin, Ryan." Ashton said and I nodded, fixing my hair.
I climbed down from the treehouse and smiled at Ryan. "Hey Ry." I said and he nodded.
"Look, we're gonna go out. Do you wanna come and bring that Ashton kid?" Ryan asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Sure. Where are we going?" I asked.
"Around California. Ashton's first time being here, right?" Ryan asked.
"Yea. I guess he could see Cali." I said and looked up.
"Ashton, come on. We're going around Cali." I said and Ashton came down.
"Like a tour?" Ashton asked and I nodded.
"Yup. You need to see Cali anyway." I said and Ashton smiled, nodding.
"Then let's go see California."
