"Emilyyyyyy come downstairs the Uber's here!"
"Coming Mom!" I yell.I'm so excited for London. I've never been there before. I can't wait for the hotel. It has a huge indoor pool.
I run downstairs with my suitcase trailing behind me.
"Excited for London kids?" My dad asks as we are in the Uber.
"So excited." Mac and Evan responded
"Emily?" My dad asks.
I wasn't paying attention I was scrolling through Instagram.
"Wait what?" I asks
"Are you excited for London?" My dad asks, again.
"Oh yes, super excited!" I say while still scrolling through Instagram. When we are 10 minutes away from the airport my dad's phone rings.
"Hello?" He asks
"This is Devan." He says.
"Wait... really?! That's great! How many?" He asks.
"Just one? Ok that's fine. Thank you!" My dad hung up.
That's all he said. I have no idea what that was about.
"What was that for?" I ask.
"One of us got upgraded to first class!" My dad says excitedly.
This happens sometimes. My dad travels for work a lot so sometimes we get upgraded.
"Can I have it pleaseeeeee?" I ask.
"No I want it!" Mac says.
"We will talk at our gate." My dad says right as we arrive to the airport. The airport was very crowded. I know it's LAX and it's always crowded but today seem extra busy.
I wonder what's going on?
After security we see a mob of paparazzi coming down from where all the restaurants are.
I wonder who's here. Paparazzi must be so annoying.
I try to get a look but I can't.
We get to our gate right as people were boarding.
"Mom gets the first class seat." My Dad says.
I'm bummed but I don't really care.
We find our seats. I have the aisle seat in row 5. My brother Evan is in the middle and my brother Mac is at the window. Lucky! My dad is a row behind us in the aisle.
My mom comes from her first class seat.
"Emily there is a kid in first class who is across from me. They look about your age." My mom says.
"And?" I say, not really understanding why that matters.
"It's a long flight, why not make a friend." She says.
"Why would you want to become friends with a 14 year old?" I ask, still not getting why she is telling me this.
"You can sit in the first class seat, Emily."
"Really?!" I ask.
"Yeah why not?" My mom says.
"Thanks." I say as I pack up my candy into my carryon.
There are eight seats in first class, four rows of two. Mine is the aisle seat on the right side in the second row. When I get to my seat next to me is an old man reading on his iPad. Then across from me there is a boy who looks around 11 or 12, probably the same age as Evan, in the window seat and then an empty seat in the aisle. Behind me is a boy who looks around Mac's age, 17. He's siting next to his dad, I think. Across from his dad is what I think is the dad's wife and daughter. The daughter looks about 6. The dad and mom look very familiar. Maybe I just saw them while walking through the airport.
Then a boy comes waking out from the bathroom. He looks about my age.
He's kinda cute. He looks kinda familiar but idk.
He sits across from me and next to the 11 or 12 year old. I pull out my bag of jolly ranchers and start to unwrap my favorite flavor, blue raspberry."Those are my favorite." I hear someone say in a British accent.
I look up, it was the kinda cute boy. Ok not kinda cute. Super cute.
"Same." I say.
There was an awkward silence.
"Do you want some?" I ask. Even though I really didn't want to give him any.
He gets down and unzips his backpack and pulls out the same bag.
"I think I'm good, thank you though." He says
We both laugh. We talked for awhile. His name is Romeo and he has three siblings. Brooklyn, Cruz, and Harper. After talking for a long time he asked me for my number.
Should I give it to him, I mean we just met.
