Chapter 5: Nose Tap

What is that? I'm scared

I hop out of bed instantly and head out to the hall to see if I can see what's going on.

"Emily?" Someone says.

That voice is familiar but who is it?

"Who are you?" I ask nervously.

"Romeo. What are you doing up?" He asks.

I don't want to sound like a scaredy cat.

"I'm ummmm just going to the bathroom." I say trying to cover up that I'm scared.

"You have a bathroom in your room, Emily. Are you alright?" Romeo says concerned.

"CRASH!"
"BOOM!"
"BANG!"

I run and hug Romeo, but then quickly realize what I was doing and back away.

"Wwwwwhat was that?" I ask horrified.

"It's just thunder and lighting. It's okay. Here, follow me." Romeo says reaching out his hand.

I grab his hand and follow him into the movie room.

"This should be better, it's basically soundproof." Romeo says as we walk in.

"Thanks. Do you know what time it is?" I ask feeling less scared.

Romeo checks his phone.

"It's 2:48. Want to watch a movie?" He asks while smiling.

I am wide awake now so, why not.

"Okay! You pick." I say.

He scrolls through the movies.

"How about 'Marley and Me'?" He asks.

"I love that movie!" I say.

"I've never seen it. 'Marley and Me' it is!" He says as he buys it.

"How have you not seen 'Marley and Me'?!" I say surprisingly.

"I'm sorry?" He says while laughing.

10 minutes in Romeo asks,

"How do you like London so far?"

"Well considering I've only seen the airport and your house..." I say honestly.

We both laugh.

"What's life in LA like, well for you?" He asks looking right into my eyes.

Wow he's REALLY attractive.

"Well, I go to school with my best friend Alexa and we hang out 24/7 during and not during school. She's my only real friend, I guess. What's your life in London like?" I say while looking down.

"Well I go to an all boys school, which is good because I don't want creepy fan girls trying to date me. And I play tennis as much as I can. And paparazzi drives my family and I CRAZY!" He says. We both laugh at the creepy fan girl part.

We talk for a little bit about basically nothing until Romeo suddenly asks,

"Do you have a boyfriend?"
Why would he care/wanna know if I had a boyfriend. Plus I'm only 14.
I look up immediately and say.

"Nope, never have and hopefully will eventually."
He looks really happy.

"What about you Mr. Burberry model." I say while laughing.

"Well... if you don't count all the fans who think they are going to date me then, I haven't had one either." He says while laughing.

I'm kinda relived he doesn't/hasn't have/had a girlfriend. I think my crush for him is growing.

"This is fun Emily. I like talking to you." He says while smiling.

"Me too." I say back.

"I have an idea. How 'bout anytime we want/need to talk to each other we do something like touch our nose to signal the other person we want to talk." He says.

"That's a great idea! How about we have to tap our nose three times." I suggest.

"That's perfect." He says while tapping his nose three times.
We both laugh.

We talk about useless stuff and the last thing I remember was lying my head on his should around half way into the movie.

"Ding, ding, dong, ding, dong!"

I hit snooze on my alarm. I wake up in my bed. Was the whole movie thing a dream? Then I check my phone.

Romeo: You fell asleep about halfway through the movie, I was tired too so I just carried you into your room. Don't worry I didn't finish the movie without you🐶😉

Me: Thanks Ro. When I woke up I thought that was all a dream. Glad it wasn't😂

Romeo: Ro... is that a new nickname for me?😏I like it

Me: Glad you like it... Ro😊😂

Romeo: Ok, now you need a nickname.... how 'bout Em?😂

Me: Em works😂

Romeo: I love how we are texting even though we are right across the hall from each other😂😂

"BREAKFAST!" Victoria yells.

Me: Ikr😂 see you downstairs👋

During breakfast we all talked about the crazy thunderstorm. Neither Romeo or I mentioned that we watched part of a movie. Or even saw each other. Right when we finished eating I saw Romeo tap his nose three times so, I nodded.

What does he want to talk about?
