Jade's POV
Yesterday was so exciting that I totally forgot about everything that happened with Marie and Amelia. I never resolved the problem or told them about Nate becoming my boyfriend.
I love calling him that.
I texted Marie and Amelia to meet me outside before school started so I could explain everything. I almost thought they were bailing when I heard Marie behind me.
"You have five minutes to explain. I've already started counting." She spat.
"OK. Fine. I deserve that one. I'm here to apologize for everything that happened yesterday. I wasn't being myself, so once I figured some things out I realized how wrong I was. I'm sorry. You're my best friends and you knew what was going on with me before I knew it myself. But I also have some news..." I looked at Marie to see her looking excited because news meant gossip.
"Nate asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes." It felt good to just put it all out there but there was silence afterwards for about a minute.
Marie's mouth gaped open in shock so Amelia translated her thoughts.
"But you've only known him for four days!" Amelia stated.
"I know. I really like him and he likes me so it just makes sense to date now. Why not? It doesn't really matter in the end. He's sweet when you get to know him, I promise." I assured them both.
"He's sweet? He just got you in trouble!" Amelia yelled.
Before I could defend him, Marie finally decided to speak.
"OK, this is your choice and I will give him a chance. BUT. If he messes up with you, he's dead to me." She said.
Now it was my turn to be shocked. Marie being accepting of bad boys? Since when?
"As long as I get to say I told you so in the end." She added quickly.
That made us all laugh. Now it makes sense for her to be nice.
"Hey, would you go on a double date with us tomorrow? I want him to really meet you and Leo because you're both close friends of mine. Plus, I'm kinda nervous for an official first date." I admitted.
Marie laughed. "Wouldn't that kind of be like vampires and werewolves? I said I would respect your decision to date him, but I never agreed to be friendly with him."
"Come on. Just give him a chance and you won't be disappointed. And besides, you have to admit that bad boys are sexy." I pleaded.
"They are not." Marie said firmly. She did shift a little bit so I knew she was lying.
"So you're saying that the rebellious angst and hot body doesn't draw you in? Not the piercing or tattoos?" I tried a little harder.
"Nope." She said popping the 'p'.
"I won't tell Leo. Everyone loves a good bad boy. Especially because you're a choir girl. He's so bad and choir girls are like the definition of goodness. Opposites attract and there's chemistry when he convinces you to misbehave--" I kept rambling before she gave up.
"FINE. I hate the whole drugs and law-breaking thing but besides that they're tolerable. I'll go on the double date tomorrow wherever you choose. Happy?" Marie asked.
We all started laughing.
"Okay fine. We'll be there 5:30. Your house. Then we'll leave for the date."
I smiled knowing that there was a chance that my friends would actually accept him for the guy I know him to be.

Marie's POV
It was around 5:45 when I heard a knock at the door.
"Come in!" I called out, knowing it was Jade. As soon as she came in she started pacing around my room.
"Someone's nervous." I said jokingly as I put my eyeliner on.
She suddenly stopped. "It's just that there's a lot of pressure. I want you to like him and I also want to enjoy our first group date. Maybe this will help me get ready for our actual first date."
I nodded, trying to seem interested. I already had my own plans for what would happen tonight.
"How do I look?" I asked as I showed Jade my outfit.
"Hey, you're the one who already has a stable relationship. I'm the one who should be worried. Leo loves you." Jade assured me.
"I don't know we never actually said that little four letter word to each other yet. I need to wait a little longer before I'm sure about him being the one." I confessed.
I walked over to my closet to put my heels on while we continued talking.
"You look good, Jade. The way Nate stares at you says how much he adores you. Now, let's get going."
We headed downstairs to see Leo and Nate sitting on opposite sides of the room and pretending not to notice the other.
This is going to be a long night.
Jade and Nate decided to go to take us to see a local band. I don't typically listen to rock music so this would be different for me.
"Now Marie, I'm pretty sure the bands take requests for covers but don't ask for Bach or Beethoven." Jade laughed with Nate over that one.
Leo had to try and stifle a laugh. "Ha ha, very funny." I said sarcastically.
We finally made it to the venue which was this nice little restaurant which was packed with people who seemed really into rock music. Not my type.
Jade and Nate got on the dance floor right away and started dancing together. No slow songs yet, but they were still having a great time.
"Hey babe, this isn't exactly the type of date I'd take you on." Leo admitted.
I laughed out loud. "Good thing it's not our date." I smirked.
"You're so cute when you're mysterious. What's going on?" Leo asked.
"I'll explain outside. It's getting loud in here. Can just the two of us go on our own date?"
Leo and I left and started walking toward his house to watch Star Wars.
I got a text from Jade a half hour later asking if I was in the bathroom. It took her a while to notice we were gone which must have meant that she's been busy dancing. Or... Nope. Hopefully just dancing.
I sent her back:
You should know by now that I always have my own plans. No, I'm a true best friend and wouldn't let you be scared of your first date alone. You should needed some help getting started, and now you're on your own. You can do it! Hopefully he'll buy you dinner afterwards, and that's it. Take deep breaths. We'll reschedule a group date later. Enjoy! Make good choices! (That's mostly for him though)
So in the end of the day, Jade gets her first date with Nate and I get to cuddle with Leo and watch the entire Star Wars series. Win win.
