Chapter 4 - Valentine's Day

Marie's POV

All I could think about for the rest of the day was this mystery girl.

It couldn't be me, right?

When I went to gym class, I knew that I just had to tell my friends about it.

My best friend from gym was Jade. She was also in my chorus and has a passion for music and fashion which we share.

We happened to have a free day in gym that day so I pulled her aside and told her everything that Ms. Ravin told you.

"It has to be you. She was just letting you know in advance without telling you straight out." Jade explained.

I secretly hoped she was right.

"Well, I guess we'll see tomorrow. I'm so excited. Even if it's not me, it will be so exciting to watch." We both agreed.

It was Valentine's Day. I had a preset outfit with a red dress and my black flats.I did my makeup even nicer than usual, and I packed lipstick. I curled my hair and hoped that Leo would approve.

Just in case it's me, I want to look really good for the pictures I could post on Instagram and Snapchat.

All day I was super careful not to smudge my makeup or wrinkle my clothes. Period 8/9 finally rolled around and so I sat next to Jade and we waited for the performances to begin, with one special one in mind.

The first girl took the stage. Her singing was painful, but I knew that once it was over Leo would probably be coming in. Jade went next, singing a BVB song that I didn't know but she did a great job.

Performance after performance, and nothing. I was about to go up and sing a song myself but I was to anxious.

I kept peeking at the door, waiting for it to open.

It never did.

All period the door remained shut. I shuddered at the sound of the bell because it meant that he wasn't coming. I grabbed my bag to leave for English.

Margaret, another girl in my choir class, came up to me as I was leaving class.

"You look so fancy today. You got someone to impress?" She joked.

"I guess not." I managed, snaking past her to leave.

I was left wondering what happened with him. Did he chicken out, or did Ms Ravin lie to me?
