God Works

Sometimes we forget that God still works, He is still in power, and He has all authority. We also often forget that God doesn't need us, He just desires us.

God works. I can't tell you how many atheists who decide to experiment say, "I'll try it out and see if God works." He works, kapeesh? A lot of the time we don't work, but He always does.

God works in a lot of ways. He works:
-Through Trials (James 1:1-13)
-In us (Philippians 2:13)
-For the good (Roman's 8:28)
-Through us (Matthew 5:14-16)
I could keep doing, but the point is God works. We just have to die to ourselves and deny ourselves (Luke 9:23.)

Let's be real, though. God could easily do on His own what He has us to. Tonight he showed me that when I walked into steak n shake and my waitress asked if she could come to church with me. You see, for weeks God has impressed it upon me to ask this waitress if she attends church, but I never have. Then God decided to show me He can get the job done Himself and that was the first thing she said to me when I walked into Steak N Shake.

God doesn't usually bypass us, His servants, and do things on His own though, even though He can. He doesn't because He loves us and has a desire for us to dig deeper into Him.

In a crazy 'round about way I am telling you to dig deeper into God. Deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Him. The truth is, if you don't do it, God will pick a more faithful servant to do it and they will be rewarded rather than you. To much is given, much is required. Step out of His way, put your desires aside, and allow Him to move and work in you, through you, and for you.

Abba, Father. Thank You for this resurrection day, Lord. Thank You, Jehovah, for sending Your only Son to die for us. Thank You , Jesus, that if I was the only person on earth You would have still paid the price. Lord, resurrect us on this day. Bring us back to life.
