Stiles tensed suddenly, letting out a whimper. There was a creaking and suddenly his trap door swung open.

There was a loud snap as the rope stretched.

"No! No! I put it on! I did it!" Erica cried out, eyes widening.

Had she been to late?!

Was this all her fault?!

Scott stared and started. Horror coursed through his veins.

"We did what you told us! We did it! Is this some kind of game to you!?" Derek roared, eyes flaring red.

It felt like he was tearing apart.

He lifted the rope from his neck, jumping down from the stage. Ignoring the body...

"Where are you?! Where are you, coward! So you were just going to kill him anyway, was that it?!"

Derek had never felt this rage in such a long time. This grief and this rage.

Not since...

He cut that thought before it began, no he couldn't think of that now. Especially now!

"Derek!" It was Issac, but instead of grief and anger there was shock?

He turned to where Isaac was looking. He almost turned away at first.

Stiles suspended body.

He couldn't look...

But then he realised what Issac was talking about.

Stiles body was...loosing mass and shimmering? They could all suddenly see through him and the next thing? The body shimmered out of existence.

It was there, then it was not.

Pure and utter confusion overwhelmed everybody.

Scott warily wiped his tears away. His mouth still open. Had the Grand Master just taken the body away? Or did this mean something else was at work here?

"Where is he? Where's Stiles?! What have you done with him!" Derek shouted.

There was no answer at first.

But then...

"You really did it. You really would die for him?"

The Grand Master sounded surprised, as he'd expected them to just watch Stiles die.

"Where is Stiles?!"Derek retorted, voice loud, powerful but no where near the  power the Grand Master held.

"Your questions will be answered soon. I have to say I am surprised. Mieczyslaw was so convinced you would not die for him"

Scott picked it up first. He stumbled into the centre, trying to pick up where the voice was coming from.

"Wait?! Does that mean his alive?! Stiles is alive?!"

"Yes, beta. He is alive"

Everyone was had taken the rope of themselves hurriedly and jumped from the stage.

"He's with you?" Erica asked shakily but with hope, wherever the hell the Grand Master is she thought.

Talking in all their minds like this was freaky!

There was a moment of silence, when all the wolves could hear was each other's breaths but there was finally an answer.

"He is with me"

Boyd stepped forward.

"I-I think I understand. We did save his life from an execution, just not this one and you know the only way we would possibly gamble our lives for Stiles is if we thought his life was in genuine danger, right this second. If not, we would have just tried to find other ways around it"

"Clever, very clever. However there is more to this tale. Allow me to... explain"

Suddenly a huge shape appeared out of the darkness. The Grand Master stood before them.

Once again Derek did not understand why the Grand Master was so huge. He and his pack looked so tiny compared to them.

However there was more on his mind right now. Well there was only one person on his mind.

"Where is he? Where's Stiles?!"

Had this just been a game to them?!

"Do not worry wolf, this is no game. I will bring you to him"

The Grand Master held out his hand.

Derek cringed slightly at the mind mind reading, however noticed despite the size, the ruins and the unnatural feeling of power radiating from them, the hand was completely normal, human hand.

The skin smooth with no wrinkles.

Derek felt like falling to his knees right there but unlike last time he felt more in control of his body, that he didn't have to, despite feeling the need to...

"The pack is connected with you. Where you go, they will go"

Derek hesitantly took the Grand Masters hand.

He felt a tinge of embarrassment at the size difference. His hand was like child's hand, a toddlers even, compared to the Grand Master.

As soon as he placed his hand on the Grand Masters.

The room blurred, warped before is his eyes and changed...

The pack said goodbye to the hanging nooses gladly.

The gallows it seemed, would not be waiting for them today.
