That's how it seemed to be from now on. Nothing really happened for a about three weeks. Now and again the Mistress would call on Stiles to clean her room.

They would talk and she would talk. Sometimes it was gossip. That the Lord of Water had divorced his wife. Sometimes it was information. That it was the Lord of Power who tried to take control of all the districts once. He and his army were killed by the Grand Master and a new Lord of Power was appointed.

Most Lords die of old age. Then a new Lord is appointed by the Grand Master and gives them two drinks from the Silver Soul.

The oldest Lord was the Lady of Air.

Within the seven Lords there was four Lords and three Ladies.

The Youngest Lord was actually their Lord, the Lord of Mind.

When Stiles has asked Roseleta how had he become Lord she had just smiled at him.

"Maybe another day" She said.

"You shouldn't be talking to her like this"

Stiles clicked his tongue in irritation at what Daichi had said. He knew he was right but...

"What am I supposed to say? No? She's an Elite, his Mistress"

"Tell him then. If he knows it's not your fault I am sure our Lord will be merciful" Daichi said Lord with almost a mocking voice.

Stiles ignored it but he did reply "He hates me, I doubt it"

But there was another reason Stiles did not want to go to the Lord about Roseleta's interest in him. Despite knowing it would end only badly he liked his talks with her.

Not really her or her flirtations but her information.

Kirah did give him lessons on their realm but he believed that teaching Stiles the sorcery and defence was more important.

But Stiles wanted to learn and doing nothing about Roseleta's advances was giving him more and more information about the sorcerers land, his land now as well.

Daichi acknowledged what Stiles said with a shrug but he did warn him "It'll only bring trouble you know"

"I know"  Stiles sighed.

Before he started to clean the clothes with his magic. Daichi joining him.

An hour later.

"Ugh!"

Stiles groaned, gritting his teeth.

He got up, glaring at Kirah.

"What was that for?!"

"Your head seemed to be in the clouds now a days"  Kirah said, looking at Stiles.

"So you thought that knocking my legs out from under me would help?" Stiles grumbled.

"It's a new lesson" Kirah said with a grin. A grin that Stiles didn't like the look of.

Then to his shock Kirah got into a fighting stance. Hands raised upwards, protecting his face.

Stiles stared at him for a couple of seconds.

"You've got to be kidding me"

"They're may come a time where your sorcery can not save you. So.." Kirah shrugged "Just so"

Stiles tried to protest but before he could he found himself having a conversation with the dirt on the ground.

Stiles spat out the dirt, standing up. His hands curled into fists.

"Okay" He growled "If this is how you want to play it"

"Guard up!" Kirah snapped, not paying attention to Stiles's anger, his fist came out and knocked some stars into his head.

Stiles stumbled backwards. Instinctively raising his hands, trying to protect his head.

Kirah smiled.

"Good"

Stiles felt adrenaline start to shoot through his veins as he and Kirah faced each other.

"Now what?" He asked seriously.

Kirah chuckled but then replied calmly "Now?"

His eyes narrowed and he suddenly seemed to watch Stiles with the most intense expression he had ever seen.

"Now you show me you know how to survive"

Then Kirah ran at him.

Stiles barely blocked with his arm. They stood there, pressing against each other, none would give.

But there lessen ended with another warning

Stiles on the floor, slowly getting him, rubbing his bum.

He knew he'd have bruises.

But also...

"Be careful, there are eyes and ears in these walls, I trust you know this"

Stiles wasn't sure how to respond to that.

So he started to train hand to hand with Kirah, while he gained more information from the Mistress and carried on with his chores under the orders of the Lord and Madam Rucia.

Despite his friend and Kirah's warnings it seemed a resealable arrangement, giving him everything he needed to know. But what he did not understand then was that it was not him he should be worried about.

Kirah had taught him how to create lights. Little balls of energy that aloud him to see where he was going in the dark, they were very useful. He showed Stiles what he focus on to create the ruin and luckily this ruin was completely normal, unlike Kirah's which, like he told him, was far to powerful to use.

Stiles stayed up that night, staring up at his golden ball of light, hovering above his bed.

Thinking...

Pondering....

Wondering....

But he was not stupid, Stiles knew this stand still in his life would end soon, especially with what the Lord said about him drinking from the Silver Soul. He must have done something to be rewarded with the Silver Soul. With his talks with the Mistress and the Lord of Minds Letter.

Yes...

Soon everything would end and he had to be ready.

Stiles smiled slightly.

He had to be ready and make the most of his life here before everything turned into a pile of dog shit, as everything usually did.

Life moved on and changed.

Whether he wanted it to or not.

And knowing his luck it would probably change for the worse. He'd heed life's warnings with great care.

As he always did.
