Stiles said, not looking up at the Grand Master "The wolves wanted to talk to you Master, they interrupted me before I could...before I could connect the Nemeton to the portal"

Stiles seemed to get paler and paler the more he spoke. His body tensing up.

The room suddenly trembled and the air suddenly felt like they were breathing in ice.

"You haven't connected the portal yet? This is unacceptable! Don't you know how many lives you are putting at risk right this instant!"

Stiles body hunched in more as he said, his voice more quiet "I-I tried to tell them-"

"Tried to?! They are wolves, they are beneath you, Mieczyslaw"

He didn't reply at first then he finally said, Stiles sounded desperate.

How serious was this?!

"M-Master I know what the punishment is for disobeying you for this is but I must beg you to reconsider. I-I have served you faithfully through these years. Please!"

What was going on?!

Derek suddenly had a terrible feeling Stiles had been misleading them on how serious this would be. Yes he had said but he had also joked about it, who jokes about their own death?! If this is what was going on?

"Master"

Derek twisted around to see Boyd, addressing the Grand Master warily, copying Stiles.

"What exactly is the punishment for this"

The Grand Master didn't reply to him, carried on talking to Stiles. Derek guessed they just weren't worth their time. However in a way the question was answered and Derek wished it wasn't.

"I can not make exceptions. You know this. The Lord before you risked his own district but you? You have risked all our districts, including the safety of those on earth. You have served me well, that is true but I can not let this slide Mieczyslaw, for that I am sorry"

Stiles looked like he would be ill any second. He then talked to the pack tightly, his voice controlled "The punishment for not connecting the Nemeton with our world is e-execution"

Derek had no words, it was like someone had ripped out his tongue. He just couldn't speak.

"What?! No!" Scott cried out, eyes wide with fear.

Despite there fear, the wolves could not fight what ever had them kneeling on the ground. Only their voices could fight for them.

"This was our fault! Not Stiles!" Surprisingly it was Issac who spoke up.

Boyd agreed and Derek who still could not speak just nodded his head, quickly.

The alpha saw actual surprise in Stiles eyes at their response.

What? Did he honestly think they'd just stand around and let him be killed?

The Grand Master finally paid them attention. The glow, where his eyes should be was directed in their direction.

"Mieczyslaw, are these the wolves from your memories? All those years ago?"
