He killed the skitter without any answers.

A couple of minutes later Ben followed Diane to her room, he was after her, fast and angry leaving the rest of the kids in the middle of the basement with their party behind. When they arrived to the room, Ben push Diane against a wall and force her to face him and his anger.

-Ben: You made me kill it without answers!

-Diane: I didn't move your arm with the sword, you killed it. It felt good right? Different than killing them fighting, having the power.

-Ben: Shut up! Now i have nothing, and i wasted a day here with your psycho camp.

-Diane: We are not Psychopaths Ben, we are like you. I told you, you belong with us.

-Ben: I'm nothing like you.

-Diane: Aren't you? Don't you feel that anger every time you see a skitter? To stare at those disgusting  creatures and remembering what they took from you, it makes you want to kill them all by yourself. Don't you feel different? they turned you into this freak, lucky us we have strength  now. You are not like us, Ben? Aren't you, just like everyone here, looking for revenge?

-Ben: I said shut up!

Ben hit the wall right next to Diane's face, the wall ended up cracked and Ben ended up gasping, stepping away from Diane and placing his hands on his eyes, to avoid the anger tears to come through. Diane stared at him for a second and then she felt pity and guilty, she walked to Ben, placing her hand on Ben's shoulder.

-Diane: You fall in love Ben, you remembered to love when it was all gone, when there was no hope for you, having strong emotions is killing you... but is saving you.

Ben look up, to Diane, who was staring at him with the same look.

-Diane: Love, is what makes us humans, and that Ben Mason, that's the reason you will never be like us, that's a reason you are a legend. You want to live for love, but you will die for it too. You will be our hero, at least that's what the stars said.

The look on Ben's face changed and he stared at her petrified taking on his heart every word.

-Ben: The stars?

Diane smiled.

-Diane: You will think i'm crazy, but just believe me. We did find out something, you didn't noticed but one of us is willing to be connected to the creature, is dangerous if you didn't know, it puts your brain in so much pain; not a single regular human will be able to survive. The point is when i mention the red eye, everything he knew came to his mind.

-Ben: What? What did you learn?

-Diane: We have a location, but.. it wasn't clear enough. We learn that he's not killing her yet, he's planning on turning her into one of them, i don't how trust me it shocked us too. Then he will force her to face you, to give you the chance of killing her and then he is coming after your family. The process might fail, and she might die.

Ben's look was lost, in so many feelings, it was certain that this was personal, the red eye was going directly for him.

-Ben: That insect!

-Diane: He is on a red tower, to the other opposite of Charleston, North. Keep walking ,follow your instinct  you will find it. Good luck Ben Mason.

Ben turned around, ready to leave this group of people behind and to start his real task, but he stopped on the door of the room they both were, he stood there for a moment before he turned to see Diane, staring back at him.

-Ben: It's not bad what you are doing, but it's not right. I do understand you all, but you need to remember who we are, what we are. Humanity is what makes us different from them, even if we don't look that human anymore, we are not freaks, remember that.

-Diane: I will. We wont see you again right?

-Ben: I hope if we do, this will be all over, goodbye Diane.

Ben left that same night, he left the camp of the others and their weird ways to deal with their pain, he thought  what Diane said was true; If it wasn't for Charlie, Ben would have ended like them or worst, and he left that group with a lesson and a lead.
