Aya's POV

I walked to my room all by myself. Emma was acting strange, she's hiding something. Ugh, if it weren't for that stupid silent stone I would know. When I reach my room I find Maven in front of the door, my heart skips a beat when I see him. "What do you want?" I ask in a quiet voice, "If it was about the whispering, I'm sorry, it's just that I really didn't want to make a fool of myself." He shakes his head, "No, it's not that, I want to ask you a question, answer me honestly, Were you the one who made Iris make a fool of herself at the banquet?" I take a deep breath, afraid of answering him, he might think that I'm cruel, or messed up if I tell him the truth, "I did," I reply in a soft whisper, "I just couldn't contain myself, she is disgusting, how can she flirt with a man that will soon be married to another, I know that the court finds it normal to take a mistress, but by law of Norta, and by me being me, This act is an act of treason, and is not normal!" "Calm down," he says in a quiet voice, "I just wanted to make sure that you did it, and I agree with you, it is disturbing. Well I have to go, I promised some friends that I would hang out." I stare in awe at him as he leaves. I enter my room and I try to work on my work and all of a sudden I hear a knock. "Come in whoever you are." I say. The door opens wide and I see my mother, the lady who forgot that she had two kids, the lady who neglected everything but herself, the lady who left her sickly daughter and innocent son with her sister and went off having affair after affair after affair, the person who I hate most in the world. "So glad you took some time to see your daughter after she  became betrothed to the prince, I thought that you forgot Tom and I's existence, seems I was wrong," I say in a cold voice full of hate. "Why are you acting this way," she replied in a voice with equal hate to mine. For the exception for Tom's eyes we look nothing like her, while we are both tan like are father (whoever he is. All I know is that he is a Merandus) her skin is as pale as the moon, her hair is a dirty blond, while Tom and I have hair as dark as ashes, she's exceptionally tall but Tom and I are taller than her. "Well you can't blame can you, you never seemed to care about anyone but yourself," I say in a mocking voice. "Yes well I just wanted to congratulate you, I already went to Tom, and he at least pretended to be happy to see me," she says in a stuck up voice. "Well now you did, so you can just leave," I tell her, my face as hard as stone and eyes darker than space, my features become murderous. "I also wanted to say goodbye," her voice becomes softer and kinder yet this makes me trust her less, "It may be awhile till I come back, I'm going to our estate, there are a few things that I want to do and they might take some time." My voice is sharper than a butcher knife, "And what are these few things?" even though I ask I know the answer (another affair I suppose). She, luckily ignores me, and leaves. That win I had earlier means nothing now, my self indulged mother ruined my rare good mood. I try to write some more but I just couldn't. She had to come, she just had to. The devil gives no appointment. I need to take a breath. I go to take a walk and calm my nerves.
