TOM AND EM KISSED, SO DID BELA AND JACOB. Maven and I were looking for Em and Tom to tell them that we're leaving, and then we saw them kiss. So with that, we left to the old chamber. "Do we tell them?" I ask innocently. Maven shakes his head. "I forgot to ask you, did you find a way to blackmail Evangeline?" He asks looking at me. I nod my head, "Yeah, though I can't tell you. Cal is a man of war, so most of his attention will be going to the war, naturally, Evangeline will take care of the rest. Though I doubt she would have included us, this way we will be the actual leaders of Norta," I explain. He nods his head. "So you enjoy the Gala?" He asks, his face near my mine. I shake my head," I hate big social events. You?" By the time I answer his face is 2 cm away from my face. "No not really," he answers. When he does I can smell his breath, nothing to drink but lemon juice, one more thing that he and I don't do. Drink, well I don't he might have not just wanted to. I'm snapped out of my train of thought when I feel something gentle yet forceful in my lips, Maven's own lips. I try to pull away but he won't let me. All of a sudden I did the last thing I expected from myself, I kissed back, though only for a few seconds. He finally pulled away, once I was relieved from the shock I gently pecked his lips. "Let's head back or they'll start to worry," Maven said taking a hold of my hand as we head out, "Kissing you like that wasn't my idea mostly. Bela and Em said that was probably the only way to get you to kiss back. Never told me it would scare you. Don't deny you were a bit scared." I nod my head, "Em and Bela were right. Plus they don't really know the reason I'm so wary of kissing. To me, kissing doesn't show real affection. I mean look at my parents, they probably kissed, but in the end, it was all a hookup that got my mom pregnant with twins," I say with a shrug. With that, we head back to the ballroom
