I smiled, my face flushed a silvery pale. I wasn't wearing my headband all day and I could feel Aya's mind brushing against mine as she restrained herself and her power. I could feel the fire in my silver blood as I walked away from Aya and Bela. My skin and the surrounding air grew warmer and I barely noticed as Cal approached me. "Em!" He called out. I flinch at the sound of his voice. I hadn't heard his voice in days and I almost forgot how ignorant he sounded. I straightened my back and spoke, my voice laced with a bittersweet annoyance, "Yes, my dear brother?" I didn't know why I was so upset at him as I usually look up at him, although all I ever really see is his shadow just past Maven and Bela's backs. Being the youngest I was always stuck in someone's shadow, whether it be the brother I love, the sister I wish I was or the brother I can't even touch, I was always behind them. "I wanted to talk to you about Belle." My eyes narrowed at the nickname he gave Bela. "What about her." My voice was filled with poison but, as usual, Cal didn't notice. "I'm mostly concerned with Jacob. She seems really fond of him, which I think is great of course, but I think it's affecting her judgment." Cal sounded concerned. I brushed it off and began walking again as I dismissively waved and said, "Don't worry. Bela will be fine." I emphasized Bela. He thanked me and ran off, probably to train. As I arrived at my room, I found Tom waiting inside. "Tom," I began, acknowledging him with the nod of my head, "Why are you so bitter to Aya?" My last words were quiet as I approached my closet. I pulled out a pitch black dress with removable silent stone and pulled the beads of silent stone off. "She hurt you! How are you so okay with this? I hate seeing you so upset." Tom's voice sounded so full of anger and... dread? I paused as I was pulling the dress over my legs. It was a tight fitting dress with no sleeves and a ruby embellished collar and matching ruby embellished gloves. I finished pulling the dress over my bust and sighed. "Tom. She's your twin. I am okay with this because I care about her, just as much as I care about you. You and I have hurt her much more than she ever hurt me." I heard my bed shift as he presumably stood up. He began walking towards me, as was evident by the fast approaching footsteps. He stopped, just centimeters away from me. He embraced me from behind and I relished in the feeling of another human body next to mine. As he let go I turned around and pulled him close once more. I let a few silent tears fall into the dark blue polo shirt he was wearing. He rested his head on mine and he allowed me to stay there for a few silent moments. I looked up at his forest green eyes and he stared down into my stormy gray eyes. "I-" he was cut off by a rapid knocking on the door. I let go of his shirt and walked to the door. I quickly wiped my face clean of tears and opened the door. I was surprised to see Maven and Aya standing there. I opened the door wider and invited them in. Tom put on a blue almost black blazer, hiding the slight tear stains left by me. He nodded in Maven and Aya's direction and turned to the mirror on the opposite side of the room. I smiled gently and nodded, giving silent permission for her to look into my mind at the conversation and ONLY at the last conversation. I felt the slight pressure of Aya's mind for a moment but it quickly disappeared and she looked down, visibly dissatisfied. "Tom," I called to him and gave him a stern look nodding my head in Aya's direction. He grunted before quietly responding, "I apologize for my behavior Aya. I did not mean harm by it." Maven smiled and relaxed a slight bit, only noticeable by someone who had known him his whole life. "It's fine Thomas." Was all Aya said. "Shall we?" Maven asked, taking Aya's arm in his. I look to Tom and he nods, a slight smile gracing his pale complexion as he takes my arm in his. We follow Aya and Maven to the dining hall meeting up with Bela, Jacob, Cal, and Evangeline at the door. I take a deep breath and wait for the others to walk in.
