There was one more month till the wedding and I was excited but nervous as ever. Today I was going to go dress shopping not only for my wedding gown but for the bridesmaid dresses too. I have no idea what I want but we’ll see what happens today, I may or may not find something. I was too excited for this. I also had to start making invites. I literally have one month to plan this all by myself, one month passes by in a blink of an eye. I went to a bridal shop that was in the town with my bride’s maids and my mom. My bride’s maids were Alex, Melissa, and Ange. My flower girl would be my 3 year old baby sister, and the ring bear would be Ashton’s younger brother. Most of my family and Ashton’s family would be coming and our friends obviously are coming.
As I tried on various dresses, I couldn’t seem to find the one. Like it was impossible, all of the dresses I tired didn’t give me that special feeling a bride should have while trying on her dress. The lady helping me find a dress left to go look for more dresses; I’m so scared that I won’t find a dress.
“This is the last one that we have in your size ma’am.” The women told me.
“I’ll try it on.” I tell her, who knows this could be the dress.
I take the dress off the hanger and look at the detailing before trying it on, once I put it on me; I had the feeling. It was indescribable, I felt the smile form on my lips and it made me feel beautiful wearing it, I could see myself walking down the aisle in this gown.
The gown was a tight fitting dress from the top with little patterns, and then at the bottom it went out into a mermaid form, basically a mermaid gown. (DRESS ON SIDE) I got out the dressing room and went over to the group of ladies.
“I love this one.” I say.
“It’s beautiful!” Ange says.
“I can see you walking down the aisle in this dress.” Melissa says.
“I agree with Melissa.” Alex says.
“Darling you look beautiful!” My mom says.
“Excuse me Miss, I’m taking this dress!” I call the clerk over.
“Alright, take the dress off and bring it to the register.” She says before walking away to help someone else.
I enter the dressing room and remove the dress and putting it back on the hanger and in the plastic bag. I throw on my jeans, shirt, and vans. I grab the dress and walk to the register; I pay for the dress then grab my umbrella. I open up the umbrella before heading out side with the dress close to me; I drop it off in my car before heading back to the girls and heading to another store for their bride’s maid dresses. I could tell they were excited as much as I was.
We go into a boutique across the street from the wedding store. As we enter we view at all the dresses, I pick up some selections as we walk through the store. First they try on a long summer type dress that was strapless, I didn’t like it and neither did they. Second choice was a red, knee length, sparkly dress, which they didn’t like. Last choice was a knee length white/gold dress, I like it and they liked it so we chose that one.We bought the dresses in a slightly larger size just in case they gained weight. I was not going to make these girls starve just to look good in a dress, I would rather them get a small size bigger and they eat whatever the hell they want.
Once we got up we put all the dresses in my attic while they helped me make all the invites. The invites were in like an envelope form that would fold open and you would see the information in it. They were white with gold swirly designs on it. Once we finished about 330 invites we decided to take a break.
I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen; I fixed myself a bowl of Greek yogurt with blueberries in them.
“Hey babe how is all the wedding planning?” Ashton says as he enters the kitchen.
“It’s going great; I’m taking a break for a few minutes.” I say as I eat spoonful of my yogurt.
“That’s good, are you sure you don’t need my help? I can help.” He says.
“I’m fine, but I do need you and the boys to go search for your suits tomorrow.” I say.
“Alright will do love.” He says as he kisses my cheek and leaves the kitchen.
I throw my bowl and spoon in the sink and go back up to the attic and finish the invites with the girls. Today was a successful day with the girls; I got plenty done but still more to go. The idea stresses me, but as long as I had the girls to help me I was good.
Once we finished I did a bit of online searching with flowers and decorations; I ended up falling asleep with my face on the keyboard. When I woke up I had the letters printed on my forehead. I changed into some shorts and a t-shirt; I worked out a little since I had nothing to do. After I took a shower and joined Ashton in bed, we cuddled for the rest of the night and just talked.
We talked about anything on our mind and that’s why I loved him because we could have moments like this. It was a blessing to find a guy like him, I mean I knew him since sixth grade but we never made it official until freshman year. He made everything better. When my parents would have arguments, I would sneak out and go to his house. When I was so sad and balling in tears I would call him and he would come over and comfort me. Basically Ashton was always there since we first met in the sixth grade. You could tell he loved me for me because I didn’t get “hot” until sophomore year. But I love that he is there for me and the real me, not the one that pretends to be happy 24/7.
Ashton knew the real me and loved me for me.
