Bruce POV
After they hugged Bruce felt so relieved and accepted. It felt like such a big moment for him.
"So, I'm about ready to patrol Gotham would you like come as Robin tonight?" Bruce eagerly asked.
"I'm sorry but I would rather stay back tonight, get a little more settled in for the week. I'll leave as Robin with you the rest of the week though." Dick lied, the real reason was to meet Joker down in the laundry room like the note said to see what he wanted whether bad or good, but he couldn't let Bruce know that.
"Alright, I understand," Bruce replied, "I'm leaving now, if you need anything just call me."
"Ok bye" Dick waved slightly and watched Bruce leave the room.
He was going to wait a good 10 minutes before walking down to the laundry room to make sure Bruce was really gone.
Joker POV
Joker was sitting in the living room, he noticed Bruce was getting ready to leave as Batman for the night. Once he was officially gone, Joker walked down the large hallway on the main floor of the manor to the laundry room in hopes that Robin got his message. He was gonna wait in there to have a little discussion of his own with the boy.
He was sitting casually on top of the giant washer they had, using it as a chair and making small jokes to himself about how ladies do what he's doing for pleasure. Then he saw the boy wonder walk in and stand in front of him.
"So Joker. I'm here. I got your message. Why did you want me down here?" Dick questioned.
"How did you know it was little ole me who wrote that? Haha you must be a great detective like your "pops" "Joker was smiled using air quotes to hint he knew Dick was adopted by him.
"It wasn't that hard to figure out it was you. So what Batman told you he adopted me?" He started sounding cocky.
"Well actually the butler told me and Batsy confirmed it for me. It's not like I would tell anyone though, anything Batman wants secret I'm happy to keep his privacy."
"Why would you care about keeping anyone's secrets? You're known for causing trouble."
"Because I love him, bird for brains. I admit being here all the time, finally getting to open up the tension to the person I love instead of holding everything in, I'm crazy for Bats but he's turning me into more of a softy... Ugh.. I hate that word. Softy." Joker confessed.
"Listen, I don't know how much I actually trust you, if at all. But I'm accepting of you or at least trying to because it's been a long time since I've seen Batman so happy."
Joker hopped off the washer to stand in front of Dick instead, "If me and him stay committed to each other then you're kinda like my son too haha. Does that freak you out?" He smirked.
Dick felt disgusted by that thought, "As far as I'm concerned, I'll never look at you the same way I look at Batman or Bruce."
"I don't blame you, having a kid would probably drive me more insane if that's even possible haha" He was being serious but laughed as if he told a joke.
"Are you still gonna be a criminal and kill people or do anything bad?" Dick worried because of how unpredictable Joker was known to be.
"Who knows. I could snap in any direction mentally, I can't give a guarantee haha. But Batsy has a new way of keeping me together, a new punishment routine if you will that's been working, if you know what I mean haha." He said winking and nudging Dick on the shoulder.
"Oh god..." Dick was grossed out by the images Joker was putting in his head about them two he just fled the laundry room as quickly as possible leaving Joker in there alone.
Right after Dick ran out, Alfred walked in carrying a basket full of clothes to wash, "I just saw master Richard running down the hall. What happened?"
"Kid doesn't understand adult talk yet, I guess."
