Batman x Joker What Would I Do Without You

Chapter 18

Joker POV

After the dinner they ate Alfred went to do more cleaning around the house and told Joker it would be alright if he wanted to watch a movie in the living room, waiting for Batman to return.

Joker being in a new relationship was feeling giddy and picked out a romantic comedy to watch. Sitting on the couch watching this movie he couldn't help but be lost in his thoughts. He thought of Harley, what if the reason Bats had to run out was because she was doing something stupid to cause trouble not knowing where Joker was for the last two days. He didn't think he'd ever have to worry about her, she might be really crazy but she was nothing compared to the horrible things Joker could do. How was the clown suppose to know who Batman was rushing out for. Joker would never admit it out loud but he secretly wished he was the only villain the bat ever had to worry about. It makes him almost wish to kill all the other bad guys in Gotham but his bat boyfriend would probably just kick his ass for murdering them.

The Joker was so lost in his thoughts he didn't realize he was missing most all of the movie playing in front of him. It was nearly the end of the rom com. He fully snapped back into reality after hearing Alfred walking in to check on him.

"Master Joker, are you doing alright on your own?"

"Yeah... Say, butler did that Gordon guy tell you exactly who Batman was rushing out to stop?"

"Worried about the dark knight are you? Well no he didn't tell me but I did hear a call from Batman just a few minutes ago he might have a trail on Catwoman teaming up with Poison Ivy, he got the lead from Riddler leaving clues everywhere. He told me he still isn't sure if Riddler is helping him or placing a trap on him."

Joker took a minute to think before responding, "How do you get calls from him? Could I ever get that too, just to see how he is?.."

Alfred pulled out his Holo-communicator, "This is what I use to keep in contact with Batman while he's out, I also use a cellphone sometimes but he prefers to talk face to face mostly while he's on duty."

"Would I be allowed to keep the cellphone for myself since you have that thing?"

"Sure, just don't break it or lose it. It's mainly used for backup but I know you must be worried about what he does." Alfred handed him his cellphone from his pocket.

Joker took it quickly seeing Batman on the speed dial, obviously, "I'm going to go up to the bedroom to call him."

Joker started heading upstairs when Alfred yelled to him, "He might be mad if you disturb him unannounced!"

"Big deal," Joker yelled back, "After five years of making him mad you can say I'm pretty use to it!"

"He's right" Alfred said to himself.

Batman POV

Batman was grappling across rooftops trying to follow all of the riddles that Riddler left him. He had to find what his deal was leading him to Catwoman and Ivy. Then suddenly he got a call, it from Alfred's cellphone, it was probably important so he answered.

"Hello Alfred did you find any leads on the bat-computer?"

"Nope, it's not Alfred, guess again."

Batman knew it was the Joker's voice and he was furious Alfred would let him play on his cellphone when he was out on a mission.

"Joker, what the hell are you doing?!? This line is meant for work purposes as Batman!"

"Oh stop your yelling... Listen you've been gone a long time and I started to worry. Heaven forbid I wanna make sure my new boyfriend is doing ok.." Joker replied.

"I should be more worried leaving you alone in my manor than you should be of me. I've been doing this every night for a long time now, I know what I'm doing."

"What if there's ever someone worse than me?... Believe it or not but I don't think I could sit back and watch you die. It's selfish really, but we need each other. Think what you would do if I was never around anymore, I can't live without you either.."

"It's sweet of you to worry about me," He was speaking as calmly as he could, "But you have to trust me, you always trusted me before, now that we're together it shouldn't change that. I'll always be ok."

Joker paused, he understood and the bat was right, "... Ok.. I do trust you... The butler told me you were after the cat lady and the weed girl.."

"Yeah, I asked Al to got to the batcave to do some research on anything that can help me find what they might be up to or where they're at.. Do you happen to know anything?"

"Well no... but I might still be able to help you out."

"How could you help me if you don't have any information?.."

"Harley was always pretty close to the plant chick, they were like best friends so I would have to be around her a lot before. I swear they like a lesbian couple. I know her well enough to probably find where she would be, but you have to have a little faith in me Batsy."

"... Alright, I'll let you help me find them but the rest I work alone."

"Can do, Bats!" They both hung up the phone at the same time.

Batman was cautious knowing how unpredictable Joker was but he was prepared to handle any situation.
