Bruce POV

Bruce walked up from the batcave after getting off the phone with Dick. He walked though the main hallway downstairs and into his study where Alfred was suppose to wait for him to talk like he asked. He walked in the room and saw Alfred sitting in the chair almost stunned and the other chair tipped over.

"Alfred, is something wrong?" Bruce began to worry.

"Sir..." He paused as if trying to find the words, "... What is going on between you and the clown prince of chaos? Why is he here in the manor?... I can't believe my eyes, he was here in this room talking to me saying you still needed to explain things to me... Well if there's something you have to tell me then let's talk. I can't believe you didn't mention anything to me to begin with, unless of course Joker somehow discovered your identity and broke in here."

"Alfred, calm down, there's no need to worry..." Bruce tried to remain calm, "I brought him here last night while you were gone. I didn't think to tell you anything first because it was more in the heat of the moment kind of thing. I should have talked to you days ago about how I've been feeling but it not easy for me to express my emotions in that way, I'm sorry for that. He has done no harm since he's been here, he knows who I am and everything about us, but most of all what I need to talk to about is I think I might be developing a relationship with the Joker, a real one...."

His butler couldn't believe what he was being said from Bruce's mouth. He wasn't sure how to deal with any of this.

"Do you love him sir?..." Alfred asked

"I really do... I wish I didn't but I do... I can't explain why either... I just do..." He leaned against his desk and looked down like he had been defeated by his own true words.

"... I never even knew you were gay.. You always seemed like a lady's man." Alfred said confused.

"I wouldn't say I'm gay... Honestly I've never found any man attractive before only ever women, until Joker came along. He's the only guy I've ever been really crazy about."

"Your one exception?" Alfred joked.

"Yeah, pretty much." Bruce laughed a little.

"Are you sure you can trust him though, master Bruce? After everything he's done in the past I would've thought you'd be more cautious.. I can understand your feelings and you know I will forgive you, you're like a son to me sir. I don't want you to get hurt. Love can blind you... Make sure you keep a clear head about everything and know what you're doing, stay safe..." Alfred said standing up putting a hand on Bruce's shoulder.

Bruce looked up at him feeling better he had someone there for him, "I really do feel like I can trust him right now. Maybe not completely, not yet, but he's a really amazing person to me and I might be able to help him for good with him staying here for awhile."

"Well sir, I don't trust him at all but I do trust you. So make sure he stays in line and I hope you two can work out being happy together, I will always support anything that makes you happy." He smiled warmly at Bruce as a father would to his child.

"Thank you, Al" Bruce smiled back and gave him a hug.

Alfred left the room to do some chores, Bruce made sure to tell him Joker's purple suit and his bed sheets needed washed thanking god his butler didn't ask why. Bruce spent an hour more thinking things over in his study and getting some work done, then he remembered something.

Joker left his room and ran into Alfred when he had specifically told him to stay only in the master bedroom until he had his talk with his butler.

"Joker was being a bad boy disobeying what I told him. He's gonna need punishing." Bruce whispered to himself making his way back upstairs to find him.
