Author's Note
I'm sorry for my two-year absence. I had the worst writer's block, and for some reason, I thought I completed this story. Now that I've reread and edited the story, I don't think it'll end anytime soon. I made a new Tumblr account recently, and I added a Mystic Messenger dedicated one. (It was once a Slytherin pride one, but no one was interested.) The external link is the link! (For some reason you can't access it the blog is named jumin-png!) Now let me stop interrupting your reading!! Enjoy!!

Jumin's POV
"Rudy, get up! It's time for school!" I ordered. Rudy buried his head under his pillow, not showing his E/C eyes. "I don't want to go." He said as his voice muffled under his pillow. I let out a frustrated sigh. "Your sister and brother are downstairs waiting for you! We're going to be late if you don't get out of bed!" I said with complete sternness. My scrawny son removed the pillow from his head and scooted to the edge of his bed. "Where's mom?" He asked, not moving a muscle. "She has an appointment." I checked my watch and moved my eyes back towards my son. "I see. I'll be down shortly." Rudy said, avoiding my eye contact.

It was a normal day at work. Nothing out of the ordinary happening. Just me and my stack of nonsense. Everything was going well until I received a phone call. "Ju, you there?" It was my wife's voice. "Y/N, I'm here." Her voice quivered. "What's wrong?" I asked, scooting my paperwork aside. "I'm pregnant." Her words filled my empty office. "Pregnant? Again?!" I asked. Those words may have come off a little rude. "I-I'm sorry. Please excuse my manners." I quickly added. "No, you're fine. The doctor says that this child may not survive the entire pregnancy." She mumbled. I can sense that she is very uncomfortable with the news she's carrying. "Hey, don't worry much about it. I'm pretty sure the baby will be fine." I responded, putting her at ease. 'What am I saying?! I'm also terrified!!'

A couple of faint knocks echoed throughout my office. "Come in," I said, straightening my composure. It was Alexandra. "What do you want?!" I asked, clenching my fist. "I just wanted to talk to my beautiful son-in-law, who will soon be my stepson." Just hearing those words in the same sentence sent chills down my spine. "I'm afraid that won't be happening," I said, adjusting the portrait of me and Y/N on the wall. "I don't understand what you see in her." She averted her eyes to the portrait. "She's your daughter, and you're not thinking highly of her." I scoffed. 'What kind of mother is this?!' Alexandra pulled out a red lip stain and placed it on her already pink lips. "As much as she looks like me, she takes up after her deadbeat of a father." She rolled her eyes. "If anyone is the deadbeat, it is you." I adjusted my crooked purple tie. "Nicolas, my father-in-law, is the noblest man I've met." A cough released from her throat. "Wasn't he the same guy who smacked Y/N before you two fell in love?" She asked, smiling deviously. "The man was having alcoholic issues. If I married you, I would have died from alcohol poisoning." She gasped as if she was insulted. "That wasn't very noble coming from you, Mr. Han." I crossed the new marble floors. "I watched and read your lawsuit," I whispered in her ear. Her eyes widened. "What do you mean?!" I pulled out a stack of files and placed them on the end table beside her. "These files are now confidential. Only me and my father are the only ones who are allowed to lay eyes on this." I returned her devious grin from before.

"I'm sure these documents are forged." My father said, not touching the files. "They were retrieved from Windsor,"  I said, pushing the stack of papers towards him. My father let out a very frustrated sigh. "Why can't you let me be happy?" He asked, pushing the papers back. "I'm protecting Y/N and the company. Marrying Alexandra will bankrupt our company and destroy my marriage!" I explained. "So you would rather save your marriage than support your own father's." He said. It was obvious that he was hurt. I couldn't lie about that. "Listen, just read those files and you will understand where I'm coming from." I said, exiting my father's office.
